Monjurul Ahsan Bulbul
Manjurul Ahsan Bulbul (born 30 November 1959) is a Bangladeshi journalist and former president of a faction of the Bangladesh Federal Union of Journalists. In recognition of his contributions to journalism, the Bangla Academy awarded him an honorary Bangla Academy Fellowship in 2020. Bulbul is former chief executive officer and chief editor of Ekushey Television. Throughout his career, he has worked with several television channels, including ATN Bangla and Boishakhi TV. He was the editor-in-chief oTV Today.He is the former chairman of Association for Social Advancement. Early life Bulbul was born on 30 November 1959, in Nalitabari, Sherpur District, then part of East Pakistan (now Bangladesh). Mymensingh Division
Mymensingh Division (; ) is one of the eight administrative divisions of Bangladesh. It has an area of and a population of 12,225,498 as of the 2022 census. Jatiya Press Club () is the professional club for journalists of Bangladesh located in Segunbaghicha, Dhaka. History The Jatiya Press Club was founded in 1954 as the East Pakistan Press Club. It was formed to be run by an elected committee guided by its rules and regulations. The Government of East Pakistan rented out a building at 18, Topkhana Road, Segunbagicha at a monthly rent of Tk 100 to be used as the press club headquarters. The building before 1947 was a residential house of Dhaka University and was once residence to physicist Satyendra Nath Bose. The first life member of the club was N. M. Khan who was chief secretary of the provincial government. Mujibur Rahman Khan was the first president of the club. The Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit is a government agency of Bangladesh responsible for investigating money laundering, suspicious transactions, and cash transaction reports. The National Board of Revenue (NBR; ) is the central authority for tax administration in Bangladesh. It is a statutory authority attached with the Internal Resources Division of the Ministry of Finance. The Digital Security Act, 2018, was a digital security law in Bangladesh. This act was passed with the aim of preventing the spread of racism, sectarianism, extremism, terrorist propaganda, and hatred against religious or ethnic minorities through social media, print media or any other electronic media. Any content over the Internet or any other media that was deemed pornographic or otherwise inappropriate by the government could be punished by fines or prison terms of various lengths.
