Money Idol Exchanger
''Money Puzzle Exchanger'' is a puzzle game developed by Face and released on January 17, 1997 for the Neo Geo MVS arcade system. Athena Co. Ltd. ported it to the Game Boy on August 29, 1997, and the PlayStation on November 5, 1998. The Japanese PlayStation version was made available by MonkeyPaw Games on the PlayStation Network's import store on November 16, 2010. It was later re-released as part of the Arcade Archives Neo Geo series for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch on June 28, 2018. Gameplay ''Money Puzzle Exchanger'' has the same gameplay as Fujitsu's earlier PC game '' Moujiya'', but structured as a stacking game similar to the ''Magical Drop'', '' AstroPop'', and ''Puzzle Bobble'' series, whereby players race to prevent a perpetually falling array of coins in different values from filling up the screen. It is based on the 1986 arcade game ''Bubble Bobble'', featuring characters and themes from that game. ''AstroPop'' is a 2004 puzzle video game developed and published by PopCap Games. The Adobe Flash version can be played online for free at several different websites, or a deluxe version can be downloaded and unlocked for a fee. The game was available for Xbox and Xbox 360 through Xbox Live Arcade. Gameplay A stack of random colored bubbles descend from the top, and a player is defeated when a bubble hits the bottom. Bubbles can be picked up and dropped by the player's clown at the bottom, and are destroyed when three or more of the same color are put together on a single column. Chains are formed either when a single drop caused a chain reaction, or when more than one group of bubbles is destroyed in quick succession. ''Moujiya'' or ''Ryougae Puzzle Mouja'' is a falling blocks puzzle video game from Fujitsu Pasocom Systems, the consumer software division of Fujitsu. Initially developed for computers running Windows 3.11 and above, it later got made into an arcade video game, which itself was ported to popular home consoles of the time. Gameplay ''Moujiya''’s gameplay is similar to ''Puyo Puyo'', in that it is a falling blocks game where the units fall in pairs and must be grouped together with other units of the same type. Here, the units consist of yen coins that are exchanged for one of the next denomination when enough coins are grouped side by side. When two ¥500 coins are grouped together, they are exchanged for a ¥1,000 banknote and are removed from the board.
