Mohammad Mazeh
Mohammad Mazeh ( ar, محمد مازح) is a Lebanese jurist who served as the urgent matters judge of Tyre until 2020. He issued an order preventing media outlets from conducting interviews with American Ambassador Dorothy Shea, accusing her of interference in Lebanon's internal affairs. On 30 June, he resigned from office in protest after he was called to appear before the Judicial Inspection Board. Tyre, Lebanon
Tyre (; ar, صور, translit=Ṣūr; phn, 𐤑𐤓, translit=Ṣūr, Greek ''Tyros'', Τύρος) is a city in Lebanon, one of the oldest continually inhabited cities in the world, though in medieval times for some centuries by just a tiny population. It was one of the earliest Phoenician metropolises and the legendary birthplace of Europa, her brothers Cadmus and Phoenix, as well as Carthage's founder Dido (Elissa). The city has many ancient sites, including the Tyre Hippodrome, and was added as a whole to UNESCO's list of World Heritage Sites in 1984. The historian Ernest Renan noted that "One can call Tyre a city of ruins, built out of ruins". Today Tyre is the fourth largest city in Lebanon after Beirut, Tripoli, and Sidon. Marie-Claude Najm ( ar, ماري كلود نجم; born 6 April 1971) is a Lebanese academic who served as Minister of Justice from 2020 to 2021. Education and academic career Najm studied law at the Saint Joseph University in Beirut and continued her studies at the Paris-Panthéon-Assas University from where she also graduated and later earned her PhD.
