Modlin Railway Station
Modlin railway station is a railway station serving the town of Modlin, in the Masovian Voivodeship, Poland. The station opened in 1877 and is located on the Warsaw–Gdańsk railway. The train services are operated by PKP and Koleje Mazowieckie. The station building features a ticket office and a Bed & Breakfast hotel. During Congress Poland (Russian occupation) era, the station was known as ''Nowogeorgiewsk''. Modernisation The station was rebuilt between 2010 and 2011 as part of the modernisation of the Warsaw-Gdansk railway. Warsaw–Gdańsk Railway
The Warsaw–Gdańsk railway is a Polish railway line, that connects Warsaw with Iława, Malbork, Tczew, Gdańsk and further along the coast to Gdynia. Opening The line was opened in stages between 1852 and 1877. Today's Line 9 was created separately in the Russian zone and German zone. Masovian Railways, in Polish Koleje Mazowieckie, is a regional rail operator in the Masovian Voivodeship of Poland. History The company was founded in 2004 as a joint venture of the Masovian Voivodeship, with 51% shares, and the, then government-owned, PKP Przewozy Regionalne, with 49% shares, to handle local passenger traffic in the Voivodeship. It started operating on 1 January 2005. Since the end of 2007 Masovian Railways has been fully owned by the Masovian Voivodeship.
