Miscellaneous SC Serowe
Miscellaneous Sporting Club is a football club based in Serowe, Botswana. The club is currently playing in the Botswana Premier League. Miscellaneous is also known as Tsenala (the red and white) and Mmamonotwane, the official nicknames of the club. The club is also often referred to as Matswakabele (Miscellaneous), a nickname that developed in the early days but has never been officially adopted by the club. The club's colours are red, white and green. The team is owned by its supporters. The society's membership elects the Miscellaneous executive committee at annual general meetings. The team has a strong following outside Botswana, most notably in Scotland. History The first President of Botswana, Sir Seretse Khama, formed Miscellaneous in 1962 when he returned from exile. Serowe
Serowe (population approximately 60,000) is an urban village in Botswana's Central District. A trade and commercial centre, it is Botswana's third largest village. Serowe has played an important role in Botswana's history, as capital for the Bamangwato people in the early 20th century and as birthplace of several of Botswana's presidents. More recently it has undergone significant development as the town and as Botswana continues to grow. History Serowe has a memorial to Khama III, chief of the Bamangwato people in the late 19th-early 20th century, who in 1903 founded the town as a new capital of the Bamangwato. It is also the birthplace of Seretse Khama, Botswana's first president, and the traditional center of the Bamangwato tribe. Kagiso Moganetsi
Kagiso is a township situated in Krugersdorp west of Johannesburg in Gauteng Province, South Africa. The word ''kagiso'' means peace in Tswana. Kagiso's administration comprises five wards, each headed by a councillor. History Kagiso was established in 1920 by ex-miners and squatters from nearby Luipaardsvlei. By 1950, there were about 3 436 people in the Luipaardsvlei Township, an area of only 47 morgen, until another new township - Lewisham - was laid out to the south-east of Krugersdorp. Demographics Setswana is the most spoken language in Kagiso. There is considerable migration into the area from the rural areas, with people seeking work in nearby Krugersdorp and Chamdor.
