Minugu Taare
Kalpana (18 July 1943 – 12 May 1979), born Lata, was an Indian actress who appeared in Kannada films. She was affectionately referred to as ''Minugu Taare'' ("A Shining Star") among the film fraternity. She was widely recognised as one of the greatest actresses of Kannada cinema who enjoyed both fan following and critical acclaim. She made her screen debut as a lead actress in the 1963 release '' Saaku Magalu'' directed by veteran B. R. Panthulu. During a career that spanned from the early 1960s to the late 1970s, Kalpana appeared in numerous commercially successful as well as critically appreciated films, many of which featured her alongside actor Rajkumar. Dakshina Kannada
Dakshina Kannada district is located in the states and territories of India, state of Karnataka in India, with its headquarters in the coastal city of Mangaluru. The district covers an area nestled in between the Western Ghats to its east and the Arabian Sea to its west. Dakshina Kannada receives abundant rainfall during the Indian monsoon. ''Bayalu Daari'' ( ) is a 1976 Indian Kannada-language film directed and produced by the Dorai–Bhagavan duo. It is based on the novel of the same name by Bharathi Sutha. This was the first movie of the director duo without Dr. Rajkumar in the lead. The film starred Anant Nag, Kalpana, and K. S. Ashwath. It was a musical blockbuster with all the songs composed by Rajan–Nagendra considered evergreen hits. ''Bayalu Daari'' was the first commercial success for Anant Nag who had earlier done art films and established himself as a leading star in the Kannada cinema with a chocolate hero image. Kappu Bilupu
''Kappu Bilupu'' ( ) is a 1969 Indian Kannada language film directed by Puttanna Kanagal. Based on a novel of the same name by Aryamba Pattabhi, this movie revolves around the contrasting behaviors of an identical, yet distinct pair of twins. The film starred Kalpana in dual roles. Puttanna himself remade the movie in Tamil as '' Irulum Oliyum'' and in Telugu as ''Iddaru Ammayilu''. Puttanna used the movie as a medium for speaking to the youth of the ideals he derived from Vivekananda. The settings are simple and mostly rural. The story is about how domestic peace was better than a glamorously consumptive lifestyle. The juxtaposition of the two sisters played by Kalpana in a black and white background was a clever trick. ''Belli Moda'' ( ) is a 1967 Indian Kannada-language film directed by Puttanna Kanagal in his directorial debut. It was based on the novel of same name by Triveni. Kanagal remade the film in Malayalam in 1967 as '' Swapnabhoomi'' and in Telugu in 1968 as ''Palamanasulu''. Plot Indira (played by Kalpana) is the heiress of her father's estate, named "Belli Moda". A young man, Mohan (Kalyan Kumar) visits the estate to meet Indira's father (K. S. Ashwath) and petition for a financial scholarship from their club for his higher studies in the United States.
