The Minor League Golf Tour is a developmental professional golf tour headquartered in Jupiter, Florida, that runs tournaments year-round in south Florida. The tour runs a year-round event schedule with a combination of one-day, two-day, and three-day tournament formats. History The Minor League Golf Tour was founded in 2004. Alumni According to the tour, 77 players that had played on the Minor League Golf Tour had status on The PGA Tour or Web.com Tour in 2019. Minor League Golf Tour Alumni include Brooks Koepka and Lexi Thompson. Q-School contests The Minor League Golf Tour Q-School contests give players the opportunity to earn PGA, Web.com, or Champions Tour status by winning events that create a similar atmosphere to Qualifying School. Eric Cole (golfer)
Eric James Cole (born June 12, 1988) is an American professional golfer from Delray Beach, Florida who plays on the PGA Tour. He was awarded the 2022–23 PGA Tour Rookie of the Year and is also the son of professional golfers Bobby Cole and Laura Baugh. Early life and amateur career Cole was born in 1988, the year after his parents remarried, two years after their divorce, as one of seven siblings. With both parents being tour golfers, Cole grew up on golf courses and started playing seriously at age 11. He never had other coaches than his parents. At age 14, while playing high school golf, Cole became a friend of Sam Saunders, the grandson of Arnold Palmer. Cole also got to know Palmer and the three of them played golf at Palmer's home clubs, Bay Hill Club and Lodge in Florida and Latrobe Country Club in Pennsylvania. Justin Hicks (born October 28, 1974) is an American professional golfer. Hicks was born in Wyandotte, Michigan. He graduated from the University of Michigan and currently plays on the Web.com Tour. After one day at the 2008 U.S. Open, Hicks was tied for the lead after shooting a 68. He fell well down the leaderboard after the first round and ended in a tie for 74th. Hicks finished 25th on the 2010 Nationwide Tour money list, the last automatic qualifying spot. As a PGA Tour rookie in 2011, Hicks finished in 60th place in the 2011 U.S. Open. Professional golf tours are the means by which otherwise unconnected professional golf tournaments are organized into a regular schedule. There are separate tours for men and women; most are based in a specific geographical region, although some tours may hold tournaments in other parts of the world.
