''Home Guardsman Bruggler'' () is a 1936 German war film directed by Werner Klingler and starring Ludwig Kerscher, Franziska Kinz and Rolf Pinegger. It is set in the Tyrol during the First World War and depicts the activities of the local home guard unit. It was based on a novel by Anton Graf Bossi-Fedrigotti, itself based on the diary of the titular Anton Bruggler.Stimpfl p. 85 Location shooting took place in the Dolomites. Werner Klingler
Karl Adolf Kurt Werner Klingler (23 October 1903 – 23 June 1972) was a German film director and actor. He directed 29 films between 1936 and 1968. He was born in Stuttgart and died in West Berlin, West Germany. Early life Klingler acquired his first theatre experience in minor acting roles. He Immigration to the United States, immigrated to the United States, where he played at a German-American theater in Milwaukee in 1925.
