Mike Guzofsky
Mike Guzovsky, also known as Mike Guzofsky () and Yekutiel Ben-Ya'acov (), is an American-Israeli follower of the late Rabbi Meir Kahane. He lives in the settlement of Kfar Tapuach in the West Bank. Guzovsky was part of Terror Against Terror (TNT), a militant group organized by Rabbi Meir Kahane's Kach organization. He and several other American immigrants stepped up TNT's violence in 1983 arson, beatings, and on March 4, 1984, shooting a bus of Arab workers near Ramallah, wounding six. Guzovsky was charged with four others, one of whom was to testify for the prosecution but fled. Guzovsky was acquitted while the others were convicted. Guzovsky would continue to serve in leadership roles in Kahane Chai (an offshoot of Kach) and was jailed several times in later violent activism. A rabbi (; ) is a spiritual leader or religious teacher in Judaism. One becomes a rabbi by being ordained by another rabbi—known as ''semikha''—following a course of study of Jewish history and texts such as the Talmud. Israel's Next War
"Israel's Next War" is an episode of the PBS series '' Frontline'' that aired on 5 April 2005. The episode, by Israeli director Dan Setton, investigated the rise of the religious right in Israel and the role it could play as a "spoiler" in peace negotiations with the Palestinians. It was Setton's second documentary film for PBS: his previous film for them, "Shattered Dreams of Peace," won him a Peabody Award. The film Setton explains that the inspiration for his project came from his previous film, ''In the Name of God'' (HBO), an investigation of fundamentalist Islam and suicide bombers, for which he received an Emmy Award. Having investigated radical religion in Pakistan, Afghanistan, and South Lebanon, Setton decided to take his investigation closer to home and investigate how right-wing religious fundamentalism was impacting Orthodox Jews in Israel. The Home Office, a Departments of the United Kingdom Government, United Kingdom government department, has, from August 2005 to 31 March 2009, excluded 101 individuals from the United Kingdom, UK for having "engaged in unacceptable behaviour". Of those, 22 were excluded by then-Home Secretary Jacqui Smith between 28 October 2008 and 31 March 2009. On 5 May 2009 Smith publicly "named and shamed" sixteen of those individuals. In addition to the sixteen, other people are or have been banned from the United Kingdom. The individuals are not necessarily banned from the British overseas territories, which have their own immigration regulations.
