Mike Baab
Michael James Baab (born December 6, 1959) is a former American football center who played eleven seasons in the National Football League, mainly with the Cleveland Browns. Early years Raised in Euless, Texas, he graduated from Trinity High School in 1978. Consensus All-State and All-American honors came his senior year of 1978. While attending the University of Texas at Austin from 1978–1981, Mike was voted team captain by his Longhorn teammates. He received All-Southwest Conference and second-team All-American honors in 1981. Center (American Football)
Center or Centre (C) is a position in gridiron football. The center is the innermost lineman of the offensive line on a football team's offense. The center is also the player who passes (or " snaps") the ball between his legs to the quarterback at the start of each play. The importance of centers for a football team has increased, due to the re-emergence of 3–4 defenses. According to Baltimore Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome, "you need to have somebody who can neutralize that nose tackle. If you don't, everything can get screwed up. Your running game won't be effective and you'll also have somebody in your quarterback's face on every play." Roles The center's first role is to pass the football to the quarterback.
