Mick Talbot
Michael Talbot (born 11 September 1958) is an English keyboardist. He was a co-founder of the Style Council with Paul Weller, and has also been a member of Dexys Midnight Runners, the Merton Parkas and The Bureau (band), the Bureau. Career The Style Council In 1982, he started working with Paul Weller to form the Style Council, who released their first records in early 1983. Since the break-up of the Style Council in March 1990, Talbot has continued to play with Weller on his solo material. He has also released albums with fellow former Style Council member Steve White (drummer), Steve White, under the name Talbot/White. He has since begun playing alongside former Style Council bandmate White and former Ocean Colour Scene bass guitar player Damon Minchella, in the jazz/funk band the Players. Wimbledon, London
Wimbledon () is a suburb of southwest London, England, southwest of Charing Cross; it is the main commercial centre of the London Borough of Merton. Wimbledon had a population of 68,189 in 2011 which includes the electoral wards of Abbey, Wimbledon Town and Dundonald, Hillside, Wandle, Village, Raynes Park and Wimbledon Park. Yolanda Charles
Yolande Christina Charles is a British musician. She has played bass guitar with Paul Weller, David A. Stewart, Robbie Williams, Mick Jagger, The Waterboys, Hans Zimmer and from July 2017 through early 2020 she was a member of Squeeze. Charles has been playing professionally since 1989. In 1993, she was part of the house band on the short-lived TV show '' Saturday Zoo''. She was heard playing bass by Paul Weller and became part of his band promoting his album ''Wild Wood''; she also recorded bass for another of his albums, ''Stanley Road''. She released an EP in 2009 and an album in 2011 with her band The Deep MO, and has a new band called Project pH. She has also been involved in teaching, including running classes at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester. She is currently a visiting tutor at Trinity Laban Music college. Pete Williams (born 1960) is an English singer/songwriter and musician, known for his work with Dexys Midnight Runners, The Bureau and These Tender Virtues. He is an original member of Dexys Midnight Runners and played on the number one single "Geno". Williams played on the 2012 album '' One Day I'm Going to Soar'' by Dexys and sang with frontman Kevin Rowland on the ''Jools' Annual Hootenanny'' TV show on 31 December 2012. He also sang with them on The Acoustic Stage at Glastonbury Festival 2014. He was a special guest for The Proclaimers on their tour in 2019 and The Specials on their UK tour in 2021. The album contains versions of songs previously recorded by Johnson and his former band Dr. Feelgood, as well as a version of "Everybody's Carrying a Gun" by Wilko Johnson and the Solid Senders. Wilko Johnson
John Andrew Wilkinson (12 July 1947 – 21 November 2022), better known by the stage name Wilko Johnson, was an English guitarist, singer, songwriter and occasional actor. He was a member of the pub rock/rhythm and blues band Dr. Feelgood in the 1970s. Johnson was known for his distinctive guitar playing style, which he achieved by not using a plectrum but playing fingerstyle. This enabled him to play rhythm guitar and riffs or solos at the same time creating a highly percussive guitar sound. Johnson and Dr. Feelgood were an influence on the English punk movement. ''Road to Freedom'' is the debut album of soul and jazz band Young Disciples, the only album the band ever released. Issued in 1991 on the Talkin' Loud label in the UK and on Polygram in the US, the critically well-received album was influential in the music genres of acid jazz and neo soul. Containing two charting singles, "Get Yourself Together" and " Apparently Nothin'", the album reached a chart position of number 21. It was on the short list of nominees for the 1992 Mercury Prize and was reissued in 1993 in limited edition with a bonus remix EP of the song "Apparently Nothin'". Young Disciples was a British- American acid jazz band, formed in London in 1990 by Carleen Anderson (vocals and keyboards), Marco Nelson (bass, guitar and organ) and Femi Williams (percussion and programming). Their most notable hit was the single " Apparently Nothin'" (Talkin' Loud, 1991), which helped launch Anderson's solo career when the band disbanded.
