Michelle "Mickey" Kelly (born c. 1978) is an American modern pentathlete who won bronze medals at the 2005 Pan American Championships, 2007 Pan American Games, and Gold at the 2018 Masters World Championship in Halle, Germany. Kelly is the daughter of Michael and Betsy Kelly. She has six brothers (Jamie, Chris, Casey, Josh, Al and Zilla) and three sisters (Sara, Emilie and Jessinia). The modern pentathlon is an Summer Olympics, Olympic multisport that consists of five events: fencing (one-touch épée followed by direct elimination), freestyle swimming, obstacle course racing, Laser pistol (sport), laser pistol shooting, and cross country running. The sport was first held in 1912, inspired by the Ancient Olympic pentathlon, traditional pentathlon held during the ancient Olympics, and designed to model skills needed by a soldier of that time. The 2007 Pan American Games, officially known as the XV Pan American Games () and commonly known as Rio 2007, were a major Americas, continental multi-sport event that took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from July 13 to 29, 2007. A total of 5,633 athletes from 42 National Olympic Committees (NOCs) competed in 332 events in 34 sports and in 47 disciplines.
