Michelle Gayle
Michelle Patricia Gayle (born 2 February 1971) is a British singer, songwriter, actress and writer. Gayle had success as a Contemporary R&B, soul and R&B singer in the 1990s, having achieved seven top 40 single (music), singles in the UK Singles Chart. These include "Sweetness (Michelle Gayle song), Sweetness" and "Do You Know (Michelle Gayle song), Do You Know". She released two top 40 albums through RCA Records but they parted company in 1997, and although Gayle has recorded other albums, they have not been released. As an actress, Gayle is known for her work on television, in particular playing Hattie Tavernier in BBC's ''EastEnders'' from 1990 to 1993. She has also had various roles in film and theatre and played Belle (Disney), Belle in the West End musical ''Beauty and the Beast (theatrical production), Beauty and the Beast'' in 1999. Mark Bright
Mark Abraham Bright (born 6 June 1962) is an English sports correspondent and former footballer. Born to a Gambian father and English mother, he was adopted into a foster family in Stoke-on-Trent at an early age. He played non-league football for local side Leek Town, before joining nearby Football League side Port Vale in 1981. He turned professional at the club the following year, though would only enjoy an extended run in the first-team during the 1983–84 season. He signed with First Division club Leicester City in June 1984. He failed to find success with Leicester however and was sold on to Crystal Palace in November 1986. He helped Palace to win promotion out of the Second Division via the play-offs in 1989 and went on to play on the losing side of the 1990 FA Cup final, before winning the Full Members' Cup in 1991. "Do You Know" is a song by British R&B-soul singer, songwriter, actress and author Michelle Gayle, released in January 1997 by RCA, BMG and 1st Avenue as the first single from the singer's second album, '' Sensational'' (1997). The song was co-written by Gayle and received positive reviews from music critics. It peaked at number six on the UK Singles Chart and number two on the UK R&B Singles Chart, making it her second highest charting single. Harlesden
Harlesden is a district in the London Borough of Brent, North West London. Located north of the Grand Union Canal and Wormwood Scrubs, the Harrow Road flows through the centre of the area which goes eastwards to Central London and west towards Wembley. Barbara Speake Stage School
The Barbara Speake Stage School was opened on 10 February 1945 as an independent school, and was initially set up as a dancing school, by the founding principal Miss Barbara Speake, MBE, and was located in East Acton, London. The school was fee-paying but non-selective in its admissions. The school closed in 2020. History In 1961, June Collins (mother of drummer/singer Phil Collins) joined forces with Barbara Speake to become the school's agent. Collins supplied the entertainment industry with children for every major production in the West End, TV and Theatre. Due to the success of both the agency and dancing school, in 1963 the decision was made to turn their successes in to a full-time educational establishment for the performing arts.
