Michael Whitehall
Michael John Whitehall (born 12 April 1940) is an English author, producer, talent agent and television personality. He is a former theatrical agent who went on to form two production companies, Havahall Pictures (with Nigel Havers) in 1988, and Whitehall Films in 1998. He has represented Colin Firth and Dame Judi Dench. He is the father of comedian and actor Jack Whitehall. Early life and education Whitehall was born on 12 April 1940 in the United Kingdom. He was educated at Ampleforth College, a Catholic boarding school in Yorkshire, run by Benedictine monks. After his education, Whitehall worked as a film reporter for ''The Universe'', a weekly Catholic newspaper. Both his father and grandfather were commercial travellers. His education was paid for by his grandfather, who had inherited significant wealth from his cousin, a wool merchant. Exeter () is a city in Devon, South West England. It is situated on the River Exe, approximately northeast of Plymouth and southwest of Bristol. Montague Egg is a fictional amateur detective, who appears in eleven short stories by Dorothy L. Sayers. Unlike Sayers's better-known creation, Lord Peter Wimsey, Egg does not actively pursue investigations. Usually, he is witness to the discovery of a murdered body, or links a casual observation with a recent newspaper headline proclaiming some crime. He is, in his own words, "Monty-on-the-spot". ''Backchat with Jack Whitehall and His Dad'', or simply ''Backchat'', is a chat show that was originally broadcast on BBC Three but moved to BBC Two for its second series. The show is presented by comedian Jack Whitehall and his father Michael Whitehall, a theatrical agent who used to manage celebrities such as Colin Firth and Judi Dench. The chat show consisted of various games and quizzes presented towards celebrities who were guests on the episode, and began airing from 20 November 2013. ''Alan Carr: Chatty Man'' (also simply known as ''Chatty Man'') is a British comedy chat show presented by comedian Alan Carr. The show included interviews with celebrity guests, sketches, topical chat and music. In 2013, Carr won a BAFTA for Best Entertainment Performance. Plot summary The miniseries is about a young RAF Fighter Pilot Flying Officer Hugh Fleming DFC, played by Nigel Havers, who is shot down during the Battle of Britain and is severely burned around the face and hands. While recovering and experiencing life as a scarred casualty of war, his colleagues and friends who had joined the RAF with him die one by one.
