Metro Jets
The Metro Jets are a non-sanctioned junior ice hockey team that plays their home games at Mount Clemens Ice Arena in Mount Clemens, Michigan. They are members of the Great Lakes Conference in the United States Premier Hockey League's Premier Division. Players are ages 16–20, carry amateur status under Junior A guidelines and hope to earn a spot on higher levels of junior ice hockey in the United States and Canada, Canadian major junior, collegiate, and eventually professional teams. The Jets won the 2002 USA Hockey Junior B Silver Cup national championship. Mount Clemens, Michigan
Mount Clemens is a city in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 15,697 at the 2020 United States census, 2020 census. It is the county seat, seat of government of Macomb County, Michigan, Macomb County and part of the Metro Detroit, Detroit metropolitan area. History Mount Clemens was first surveyed in 1795 after the American Revolutionary War, Revolutionary War by Christian Clemens, who settled there four years later. Division III (NCAA)
NCAA Division III (D-III) is the lowest division of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States. D-III consists of athletic programs at colleges and universities that do not offer athletic scholarships to student-athletes. The NCAA's first split was into two divisions, the University and College Divisions, in 1956. The College Division was formed for smaller schools that did not have the resources of the major athletic programs across the country. The Lansing Wolves are a junior ice hockey team and member of the United States Premier Hockey League (USPHL) as part of the Premier Division. The Wooster Oilers were a junior ice hockey team and member of the United States Premier Hockey League 'Premier' level. The Oilers play home games at the Alice Noble Ice Arena in Wooster, Ohio. History The franchise started in 2006 as an expansion team in the America East Hockey League (AEHL). After the 2007–08 season the team moved to the United Junior Hockey League (UJHL) for the 2008–09 season along with two other AEHL teams. The Granite City Lumberjacks are a Tier III Junior A ice hockey team playing in the North American 3 Hockey League (NA3HL) and plays their home games at the Armadillo Deck Sports Arena, located in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota. The Lumberjacks play 48 regular season games, in addition to showcase and post-season tournament games. History The team was founded in 2007 as a member of the Minnesota Junior Hockey League (MnJHL). Pittsburgh Vengeance
The Pittsburgh Vengeance are a non-sanctioned junior ice hockey team and are members of the Great Lakes Conference in the United States Premier Hockey League's Premier Division. The team plays at the Alpha Ice Complex in Harmar Township, Pennsylvania, a township outside of Pittsburgh. In addition to the junior team, the organization also fields teams at the former Tier III Junior B/C levels and various youth levels of play. Steven Andrew Oleksy (born February 4, 1986) is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. He played in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins. Early life Oleksy was born in Chesterfield Township, Michigan, Chesterfield, Michigan. He attended L'Anse Creuse High School - North in Macomb Township, Michigan and graduated in 2004. He has one brother, Daniel, who played hockey at Oakland University in Michigan. During high school, Oleksy was a four-year letter winner at L'Anse Creuse High School-North. He played one year of NJCAA college baseball at Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan.
