Merville (; West Flemish: ''Mergem'') is a Communes of France, commune in the Nord (French department), Nord Departments of France, department and Hauts-de-France Regions of France, region of northern France. The town lies 13 kilometres north of Béthune, and 30 kilometres west of Lille. History Industry Located at the convergence of a canal system and a canalised river, Merville supported an extensive boat-building industry, with many different shipyards and Ship chandler, chandlers located in the town. Merville Garden Village
Merville Garden Village is a housing estate located at Shore Road, Drumnadrough, Newtownabbey, County Antrim, Northern Ireland created by structural and landscape architect Edward Prentice Mawson. It was completed in 1949. Historical background Merville was originally a private house, the modern-day Merville House, and estate built in 1795 by the Belfast banker and merchant John Brown (c.1740–1808). It was intended as his country retreat. Other fêted people would come to reside at the sprawling 24-acre shoreline manor. Between 1849–1887, for example, it was the home of Sir Edward Coey (1805–1887), noted as the first and only Liberal Party Mayor of Belfast (1861) and prominent wealthy businessman, who helped make Belfast one of the most prosperous manufacturing centres in the world during the 19th century. Merville, officially Barangay Merville, is a barangay in Parañaque. It is one of Parañaque's 16 barangays and is part of the city's 2nd district. Featuring a namesake gated residential community, it was created on April 3, 1978 as a barangay out of barangay La Huerta under Presidential Decree No. 1325. Merville is bordered to the east by the city of Taguig and barangay San Martín de Porres, to the west is barangay Moonwalk, to the south are the barangays of Sun Valley and Don Bosco, and to the north is the city of Pasay.
