Meridian Secondary School
Meridian Secondary School is a co-educational government secondary school in Pasir Ris, Singapore. It was formed by a merger between Coral Secondary School and Siglap Secondary School in 2017. History Coral Secondary School (1999–2016) Coral Secondary School opened in January 1999 with six Secondary One classes: three Express classes, two Normal (Academic) classes, and one Normal (Technical) class. The initial staff comprised 17 teaching staff and eight support staff. The school began its lessons at Siglap Secondary School and moved to its new premises on 15 November 1999. It was officially opened on 19 May 2001 by Education Minister Teo Chee Hean. The original name of the school in Chinese, ''Shanhu'', is a literal translation of "coral". The Institute of Technical Education (ITE) is a post-secondary education institution and statutory board under the purview of the Ministry of Education in Singapore. Established by the Ministry of Education, it was formerly known as Vocational and Industrial Training Board (VITB). Muhammad Mirzahady Bin Amir, also known as Hady Mirza ( ms, حدي ميرزا; born 28 January 1980) is a Singaporean singer. He was the winner of the second season of the reality TV show '' Singapore Idol''. He was crowned the winner on 25 September 2006 at the Singapore Indoor Stadium after garnering 70% of about one million votes cast by television viewers. He was also the winner of the world's first ''Asian Idol'' competition held on 16 December 2007 in Jakarta, Indonesia. Asian Games
The Asian Games, also known as Asiad, is a continental multi-sport event held every four years among athletes from all over Asia. The Games were regulated by the Asian Games Federation (AGF) from the first Games in New Delhi, India, until the 1978 Games. Since the 1982 Games, they have been organized by the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), after the breakup of the Asian Games Federation. Chee Swee Lee (born 10 January 1955) is a Singaporean middle-distance runner who competed in the 400 and 800 metres. She competed in the women's 800 metres at the 1976 Summer Olympics. Athletic career At 14 years old, Chee represented Singapore in the 400m event at the 1969 Southeast Asian Peninsular Games (SEAP Games). She won the silver medal. Balaji Sadasivan
Balaji Sadasivan ( or ; 11 July 1955 – 27 September 2010) was a Singaporean politician and neurosurgeon. He attended Raffles Institution, Siglap Secondary School and National Junior College, and studied medicine at the University of Singapore. After graduating in 1979, he continued his education at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (F.R.C.S.) in 1984. He also trained at the Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit, Michigan, from 1985 to 1989, and became a Fellow of Harvard University in 1990. He worked as a neurosurgeon until 2001, publishing over 50 book chapters and journal articles. Justin Shaun Rodriguez Chua (born July 13, 1989) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the NLEX Road Warriors of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). He plays the center and power forward positions. He was the former star player of Chiang Kai Shek College during his high school days. He played for the Ateneo de Manila University before being selected tenth overall in the 2013 PBA draft by San Mig Super Coffee Mixers. Early life and high school career Chua was born in Manila but grew up in Bacolod City. He first played basketball in Trinity Christian School in Bacolod.
