Meredith Ochs
Meredith Ochs is an American radio commentator, DJ, author, journalist and musician. She is a Gracie Award honoree for her work in radio. Ochs is a commentator for National Public Radio's ''All Things Considered'' and has appeared on ''Talk of the Nation''. She was a frequent guest on ''All Songs Considered''. Ochs is the author of three books, ''Rock-and-Roll Woman'' (Sterling, 2018), ''Aretha: The Queen of Soul'', and ''Bruce Springsteen: An Illustrated Biography'' (Quarto, 2018). Disc Jockey
A disc jockey, more commonly abbreviated as DJ, is a person who plays recorded music for an audience. Types of DJs include Radio personality, radio DJs (who host programs on music radio stations), club DJs (who work at nightclubs or music festivals), mobile DJs (who are hired to work at public and private events such as weddings, parties, or festivals), and turntablism, turntablists (who use record players, usually turntables, to manipulate sounds on phonograph records). Huey "Piano" Smith
Huey Pierce "Piano" Smith (January 26, 1934 – February 13, 2023) was an American R&B pianist and session musician whose sound was influential in the development of rock and roll. His piano playing incorporated the boogie-woogie styles of Pete Johnson, Meade Lux Lewis, and Albert Ammons, the jazz style of Jelly Roll Morton and the R&B style of Fats Domino. Steve Huey of AllMusic noted that "At the peak of his game, Smith epitomized New Orleans R&B at its most infectious and rollicking, as showcased on his classic signature tune, " Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu". Doreen Cronin
Doreen Cronin (born 1966) is an American writer of children's books, including ''Click Clack Moo: Cows That Type'', a very well-received picture book illustrated by Betsy Lewin. Life Cronin was born in Queens, New York City, and grew up on Long Island. Cronin's first book was published by Simon & Schuster in 2000: '' Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type'', a picture book that she wrote and Betsy Lewin illustrated. Cumulus Media Networks was an American radio network owned and operated by Cumulus Media. From 2011 until its merger with Westwood One, it controlled many of the radio assets formerly belonging to the American Broadcasting Company (ABC), which was broken up in 2007; Cumulus owned the portion of the network that was purchased by Citadel Broadcasting that year. Vincent Anthony Scelsa (born December 12, 1947, in Bayonne, New Jersey) is an American broadcaster who was at "the forefront of the FM radio revolution" as the host of several freeform radio programs, the best-known titled ''Idiot's Delight''. Derek Trucks (born June 8, 1979) is an American guitarist, songwriter, and founder of The Derek Trucks Band. He became an official member of The Allman Brothers Band in 1999. Pamela Yvonne Tillis (born July 24, 1957) is an American country music singer, songwriter, record producer, and actress. She is the eldest child of country singer Mel Tillis. After recording unsuccessful pop material for Elektra Records, Elektra and Warner Records in the early 1980s, Tillis shifted to country music. Jay Stuart Farrar (born December 26, 1966) is an American songwriter and musician based in St. Louis. A member of two critically acclaimed music groups, Uncle Tupelo and Son Volt, he began his solo music career in 2001. Beyond his talent as a songwriter, he plays guitar, piano, harmonica, and is a vocalist. Uncle Tupelo Farrar formed Uncle Tupelo with Jeff Tweedy and Mike Heidorn in 1987 after the lead singer of their previous band, The Primatives, left to attend college.
