The monastery was demolished and rebuilt several times. In the middle of the 19th century, Hadji Kesariy Khorozov from the near town Elena bought the former monastery properties. Veliko Tarnovo ( bg, Област Велико Търново, Oblast Veliko Tǎrnovo) is a province in the middle of the northern part of Bulgaria. Its capital city, Veliko Tarnovo, is of historical significance as it is known as the capital of the Bulgarian Empire. The province is divided into 10 municipalities with a total population, as of December 2009, of 275,395 inhabitants. 13th Century
The 13th century was the century which lasted from January 1, 1201 ( MCCI) through December 31, 1300 ( MCCC) in accordance with the Julian calendar. Merdanya is a village in Northern Bulgaria. The village is located in Lyaskovets Municipality, Veliko Tarnovo Province. Аccording to the numbers provided by the 2020 Bulgarian census, Dzhulunitsa currently has a population of 602 people with a permanent address registration in the settlement. Geography Merdanya village is located in Northern Bulgaria and takes part of the Elena Balkan, a well-developed touristic area.
