Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (R129)
The Mercedes-Benz R129 Mercedes-Benz SL-Class, SL is a roadster (automobile), roadster which was produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1988 until 2001. The R129 replaced the Mercedes-Benz R107, R107 in 1989 and was in its turn replaced by the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class (R230), R230 SL-Class in 2002 for the 2003 model year. The R129 was offered as a two-door Roadster (automobile), roadster with an automated (electro-hydraulic), Convertible#Folding textile roof, fabric convertible roof; colour-matched, automated tonneau cover; and a manually Convertible#Detachable hardtop, detachable hardtop that could be fitted over the stored fabric convertible roof and tonneau. The Mercedes-Benz W124 is a range of executive cars made by Daimler-Benz from 1984 to 1997. The range included numerous body configurations, and though collectively referred to as the W-124, official internal chassis designations varied by body style: saloon (W 124); estate (S 124); coupé (C 124); cabriolet (A 124); limousine (V 124); rolling chassis (F 124); and long-wheelbase rolling chassis (VF 124). The R230 generation of the Mercedes-Benz SL-Class was introduced at the 2001 Frankfurt Motor Show and 2001 Bologna Motor Show, replacing the R129. The Mercedes-Benz R107 and C107 are sports cars which were produced by Mercedes-Benz from 1971 until 1989, being the second longest single series ever produced by the automaker after the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, G-Class. They were sold under the SL (R107) and SLC (C107) model names in a variety of names indicating the displacement of the engines. The R107/SL was a two-seat convertible with a detachable roof. 5G-Tronic is Mercedes-Benz's trademark name for its 5-speed automatic transmission, starting off with the W5A 580 and W5A 330 (Wandler-5-Gang-Automatik bis 580 oder 330 Nm Eingangsdrehmoment; converter-5-gear-automatic with or maximum input torque; type 722.6) as core models.
