Melissa Flores Godínez (born March 22, 1998) is a Mexican beauty pageant titleholder who was crowned . She represented Mexico at the Miss Universe 2023 pageant in El Salvador where she was unplaced. Flores was previously crowned Miss Earth México 2018 and represented Mexico at Miss Earth 2018, where she won the title of Miss Earth – Fire. Personal life Melissa Flores Godínez was born on March 22, 1998, in Venustiano Carranza, Michoacan, Mexico. She received a degree in psychology from the Contemporary University of the Americas, and is currently pursuing a specialization in cosmetics. She is currently Director of Culture and Tourism of the Government of Venustiano Carranza where her role is to promote social, cultural and educational work. Michoacán, formally Michoacán de Ocampo (; Purépecha: ), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Michoacán de Ocampo ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Michoacán de Ocampo), is one of the 32 states which comprise the Federal Entities of Mexico. Mexicana Universal is a national beauty pageant in Mexico held annually since 2018, replacing the former pageant, Nuestra Belleza México, held since 1994. Currently, the pageant is responsible for selecting the country’s delegates to Miss Universe, Miss International, Reina Hispanoamericana, Miss Charm International, and Nuestra Latinoamericana Universal. The current Mexicana Universal is Irma Miranda of Sonora, who will represent Mexico at Miss Universe 2022. Miss Earth 2018
Miss Earth 2018, the 18th edition of the Miss Earth pageant, with the theme "Goddesses of the Earth", was held on November 3, 2018, at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay, Metro Manila, Philippines. Karen Ibasco of the Philippines crowned her successor Nguyễn Phương Khánh of Vietnam at the end of the event.
