Meagan Wolfe
Meagan Wolfe is an American election official who has served as the administrator of the Wisconsin Elections Commission since 2018. Prior to this role, she was the Commission's deputy administrator and IT director. She has been the target of election conspiracies and partisan complaints since the 2020 United States presidential election, and Republicans in the Wisconsin Legislature and on the Wisconsin Elections Commission are attempting to remove her from office. Career Wolfe was born in Waukesha County, Wisconsin, and raised in Waupaca County. In 2009, she founded a rental real estate company that refurbishes historic buildings in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2011, Wolfe joined the staff of the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board as the voter outreach coordinator. She was responsible for keeping the public informed on the state's election processes and voter identification laws. Wisconsin Elections Commission
The Wisconsin Elections Commission is a bipartisan regulatory agency of the State of Wisconsin established to administer and enforce election laws in the state. The Wisconsin Elections Commission was established by a 2015 act of the Wisconsin Legislature which also established the Wisconsin Ethics Commission to administer campaign finance, ethics, and lobbying laws. The two commissions began operation on June 30, 2016, replacing the Wisconsin Government Accountability Board (GAB), which was abolished. The Government Accountability Board had been established in 2008 to replace the Wisconsin Elections Board and Wisconsin Ethics Board. Janel Brandtjen (born March 27, 1966) is an American businesswoman and far-right politician from Waukesha County, Wisconsin. She is a member of the Wisconsin State Assembly, representing the 22nd Assembly district since January 2015. Tony Evers
Anthony Steven Evers (born November 5, 1951) is an American educator and politician serving as the 46th governor of Wisconsin since 2019. A member of the Democratic Party, he served as Wisconsin's Superintendent of Public Instruction from 2009 to 2019. Born and raised in Plymouth, Wisconsin, Evers was educated at the University of Wisconsin–Madison, eventually receiving a Ph.D. After working as a teacher for several years, he became a school administrator, serving as a principal, until he assumed the office of district superintendent. A recall election in the state of Wisconsin is a procedure by which voters can remove an elected official from office through a direct vote before his or her term has ended. History In 1911, newly elected Governor Francis E. McGovern laid out his progressive vision for Wisconsin, which included a proposal for a recall. The next week, State Senator Paul O. Husting introduced Senate Joint Resolution 9, which allowed for the recall of every office holder in the state, including both those elected and appointed. Several senators did not like that the recall also applied to judges, and attached an exemption for judges. The bill passed the Senate 20-7. The bill was then passed by the Assembly 64-1.
