Kyle John McFadzean (born 28 February 1987) is an English professional footballer who plays as a centre back for club Coventry City. William Frederick McFadzean VC (9 October 1895 – 1 July 1916) was a British recipient of the Victoria Cross (VC), the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. He was posthumously awarded the VC for his actions on the opening day of the Battle of the Somme. Early life William Frederick McFadzean was born in Lurgan in County Armagh, Ireland on 9 October 1895. His parents, William McFadzean and his wife Annie Pedlow , were from Belfast and lived in the suburb of Cregagh. Known as "Billy", he was educated at Mountpottinger National School and then the Trade Preparatory School of the Municipal Technical Institute. Francis Scott McFadzean, Baron McFadzean of Kelvinside, (26 November 1915 – 23 May 1992) was a British businessman and economist. Life Born in Troon, Ayrshire, McFadzean was educated locally then studied at the University of Glasgow (graduating MA) and the London School of Economics. After working as a civil servant, he fought with the Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry during World War II, reaching the rank of colonel and seeing service in Egypt. From 1964 to 1976, McFadzean served as the Managing Director of Royal Dutch Shell. In 1976, he was appointed Chairman of British Airways by Harold Wilson.
