McCoy was a British heavy metal music, heavy metal band from the new wave of British heavy metal era. John McCoy (musician), John McCoy also led his own band under the simple name ''McCoy'' during the 1980s, which has been integrated with members of bands like Iron Maiden, Samson (band), Samson and Gillan (band), Gillan. The McCoys
The McCoys were a rock music, rock group formed in Fort Recovery, Ohio, United States, in 1962. They are best known for their 1965 hit single "Hang On Sloopy". Originally named Rick and the Raiders, they changed their name to "The McCoys" from the A-side and B-side, B-side of The Ventures' hit record "Walk, Don't Run (instrumental), Walk, Don't Run" titled "The McCoy". Career The original members were all from Union City, Indiana; however, the Zehringer boys were initially from Fort Recovery, Ohio. The band members were guitarist and lead singer Richard Zehringer (later known as Rick Derringer), his brother Randy (later known as Randy Z) on drums, and bassist Dennis Kelly. This first line-up was known as The Rick Z Combo, and later known as Rick and the Raiders. When Kelly left for college, the Zehringers were joined by bassist Randy Jo Hobbs, saxophonist Sean Michaels, and keyboardist Ronnie Brandon. This was the line-up that took the name of "The McCoys". Liam Genockey
Liam Genockey (born 12 August 1948) is an Irish musician, who is the drummer with British folk rock band Steeleye Span. Biography Genockey was born in Dublin, Ireland. During the 1960s he lived in Plymouth, Devon, U.K, playing in local semi-pro groups and then, in the early 1970s, playing with Torbay-based rock band Adolphus Rebirth. He was one of the founding members of the early-1970s jazz-fusion and afro- prog band Zzebra, later moving on with fellow band-member John McCoy to join Gillan. He then participated in Amalgam, formed in 1976 by Trevor Watts. Watts' work covers the spectrum of free jazz, electronic, jazz-rock, space jazz and folk-rock. Watts later founded 10-piece Moiré Music Ensemble which included Genockey again, along with Peter Knight, an early member of Steeleye Span. ''Live 1977'' is a live album by the Fall, first released in March 2000. Although the sound quality is poor and live documents of the Fall are plentiful, this album is of particular note as it is the earliest available recording of the group performing, apart from two tracks on the '' Short Circuit: Live at the Electric Circus'' compilation. It dates from December 1977, about six weeks after the group had recorded their debut single "Bingo-Master's Break-Out!" (which was not released until August 1978). It is the only release on which the early song "Hey! Fascist" may be heard, though it was reworked as "Hey! Student" and released on '' Middle Class Revolt'' 17 years later.
