Matthew Sturges
Lilah Sturges (; born Matthew Sturges, October 1970) is an American writer of comics and fantasy novels. She is best known for co-writing with Bill Willingham the Eisner-award-nominated '' Jack of Fables'', and other comics published by Vertigo Comics / DC Comics. Career In the 1990s, Sturges was a member of the writers' collective Clockwork Storybook, which also included Willingham, Chris Roberson, and Mark Finn. Beginning in 2006, she and Willingham co-wrote the 50-issue ''Jack of Fables'' (a spin-off from Willingham's popular ''Fables'' series). In 2008 she began writing the 42-issue ''House of Mystery'' as well. After signing an exclusive deal with DC Comics later that year, Sturges wrote ''Blue Beetle'' from #29 to its end with #36, and ''Final Crisis Aftermath: Run!'' featuring the Human Flame. Freddie E. Williams II (born May 30, 1977) is an American comic book artist. Williams entered the comic scene in 2005, when he began work with DC Comics on ''Seven Soldiers: Mister Miracle''. He has since gone on to work on several crossover series, including ''Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'', ''He-Man/ThunderCats'', ''Injustice vs. Masters of the Universe'', and ''Turtles of Grayskull''. Rafael Albuquerque (born April 12, 1981) is a Brazilian comic book creator primarily for his artwork on titles such as DC Comics' ''Blue Beetle'' and as illustrator and co-creator of ''American Vampire''. Though primarily a penciler and inker of interior comic art, he has also done work as a cover artist, colorist and writer. Salvation Run
''Salvation Run'' is a seven-issue 2007-2008 DC Comics limited series which was designed to tie into the company's major event series ''Final Crisis'' in 2008. Premise The series, which is based on a pitch from George R. R. Martin, follows a world where various supervillains are captured by the Suicide Squad and imprisoned on a distant planet. The story features the villains splitting into alliances and either attempting to escape the planet, known as "Salvation", or choosing to rule over it. Bill Willingham started as writer, but had to hand the project over to Lilah Sturges after only three issues due to illness. The first issue was released in November 2007. Eclipso () is a supervillain in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by Bob Haney and Lee Elias, the character first appeared in '' House of Secrets'' #61 (August 1963). The character bears notable similarities to Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde. Eclipso is a powerful magical entity often portrayed as a primordial manifestation of divine wrath, believed to be linked to the wrath of God. ''Countdown'', also known as ''Countdown to Final Crisis'' for its last 24 issues based on the cover, was a comic book Limited series (comics), limited series published by DC Comics. It debuted on May 9, 2007, directly following the conclusion of the last issue of ''52 (comics), 52''. The series is written primarily by Paul Dini, along with a rotating team of writers and artists. ''Countdown'' consists of 51 issues, numbered in reverse and published weekly for one year. The series covers much of the fictional DC Universe, told in parallel narratives through the interconnecting stories of a cast of characters. The Shadowpact is a fictional group of magic-based heroes who fought against the Spectre in the 2005 limited series '' Day of Vengeance'', published by DC Comics. Their self-titled series ended in May 2008, after 25 issues and a two-year run, but the team appeared in the ''Reign in Hell'' miniseries three months later. ''Lumberjanes'' is a comic book series created by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Gus Allen, and ND Stevenson and published via the ''Boom Box!'' imprint of Boom! Studios. The Justice Society of America (JSA) is a superhero team appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. It was conceived by editor Sheldon Mayer and writer Gardner Fox during the Golden Age of Comic Books. It first appeared in '' All Star Comics'' #3 (Winter 1940–1941), making it the first team of superheroes in comic books. Its original members were Doctor Fate, Hourman, the Spectre, Sandman, Atom, the Flash, Green Lantern and Hawkman.
