Matt Petgrave
Matthew Petgrave (born January 29, 1992) is a Canadian professional ice hockey player currently playing with the Sheffield Steelers in the British Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). He is a former ECHL First-Team All-Star and he has played in the highest national leagues in Slovakia, Czech Republic, and the United Kingdom. Petgrave goes by the nickname "Gravy". On October 28, 2023, he was involved in an on-ice collision that led to Petgrave's skate blade cutting the neck of Adam Johnson of the Nottingham Panthers; Johnson died as a result the injuries he sustained in the collision. Early life Petgrave was born in Toronto, Ontario. Playing career Junior and collegiate Petgrave started his hockey career in Canada with the Bramalea Blues of the Ontario Junior Hockey League. Owen Sound Attack
The Owen Sound Attack are a junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League based in Owen Sound, Ontario, Canada. Based in Owen Sound since 1989, and operating under the current name since 2000, the Attack play their home games at the J.D. McArthur Arena inside the Harry Lumley Bayshore Community Centre. History The Owen Sound OHL franchise was born when the Holody family moved the Guelph Platers to the city for the 1989–90 OHL season. The team kept the name of Owen Sound Platers. The Owen Sound Attack were born in the late summer of the year 2000 as a community-based OHL franchise. When the Holody family decided to sell the Owen Sound Platers buyers were sought from any city. NHL contracts Two-way contract A two-way contract is a professional sports contract which stipulates that an athlete's salary is dependent upon the league in which the athlete is assigned to play. ECHL All-Star Game
The ECHL All-Star Game is an exhibition ice hockey game that traditionally marks the midway point of the ECHL's regular season, with many of the league's star players playing against each other. The starting lineup for the teams, including the starting goaltender, is voted on by the coaches, players, and other league representatives. The coaches for the All-Star Game teams are typically the head coaches of the teams that, at the time of the All-Star Game roster announcements, are leading their respective conferences in point percentage (i.e. fraction of points obtained out of total possible points). Brampton Beast
The Brampton Beast were a professional ice hockey team based in Brampton, Ontario, Canada. The team originally played in the Central Hockey League for one year during the 2013–14 season prior to the league's folding before joining the ECHL from 2014 to 2020. UNB Reds Men's Ice Hockey
The UNB Reds men's ice hockey team is an ice hockey team representing the UNB Reds athletics program of University of New Brunswick. The team is a member of the Atlantic University Sport conference and compete in U Sports. The team plays their home games at the Aitken University Centre in Fredericton, New Brunswick. History Students at UNB have been associated with ice hockey as far back as 1880. The first organized game occurred in 1897 when an informal team played against a Canadian Army Company. A second team wasn't organized for another 5 years but, once the Reds hockey team reappeared, the school recognized the club as official representatives of the university.
