Matt Morgan (comedian)
Matthew Morgan is a British gentleman comedy writer, actor, DJ and radio presenter. He is best known for his work with Russell Brand, with whom he shared numerous writing credits, as well as co-hosting '' The Russell Brand Show'' on BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music and Radio X. Career Writing Morgan met Russell Brand when he was working as an intern on MTV. He first joined with Brand after the presenter told him he had a television show idea which was "good" and "commissioned", and that Morgan should work on it with him; Morgan later joked that neither of those things turned out to be true. In 2010 Matt wrote and co-performed Borked TV with comedian Rufus Hound and others, a six-part series featuring comedy voiceovers dubbed over existing television material. Russell Brand's Got Issues
''Russell Brand's Got Issues'' is a British TV debate comedy show hosted by Russell Brand and shown on E4. The show was written by Brand and his longtime collaborator Matt Morgan. Superficially a studio debate, as each episode progressed the subject was often digressed from heavily. The format of the show changed somewhat after the first couple of episodes with the character of " General Zod's nephew" Andrew Zod being dropped, and the clips of people being interviewed on the street becoming clips of Brand trying out a given activity and acting in a skit in relation to that week's topic. The viewing figures for the first episode were seen as disappointing, being beaten by nearly all of E4's main multi-channel rivals, despite a big publicity and promotional campaign for the show. ''1 Leicester Square'' is a British chatshow hosted by Russell Brand which ran from 2 April to 31 December 2006 on MTV UK. The show's title was the actual address of MTV's glass-walled central London studio that overlooked Leicester Square. It featured celebrity guests, musical entertainment and various asides featuring the presenter. The show was widely viewed as a vehicle for the comeback of Brand after his sacking from MTV in 2001. Format The show begins with an announcer introducing Brand. Controversially, he was once introduced as being "bigger than Jesus" in reference to a misquoted claim by John Lennon claiming that The Beatles were bigger than Jesus. ''Empire Square'' (abbreviated ''Empire Sq.'') is a British animated TV series created by Matt Morgan made with pixel graphics. It originated in the UK, where it was broadcast on Channel 4 late at night on Fridays. In 2006, the United States music network Fuse aired full length half-hour episodes as opposed to the 2-4 minute ones in the UK. The series as a whole was considered to be lost media until 2022, when all of the 2-4 minute episodes (which were broadcast on Channel 4 and available on a DVD) were uploaded to YouTube.
