Matt Jones (Australian Footballer)
Matt Jones (born 18 October 1987) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited by the club with 53rd selection in the 2012 national draft after playing for South Croydon and Box Hill. He made his debut in round 1, 2013, against at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. He was delisted at the conclusion of the 2016 season. Box Hill Hawks Football Club
The Box Hill Hawks Football Club is an Australian rules football club based in the Melbourne suburb of Box Hill, currently competing in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and the VFL Women's (VFLW). Since 2000, Box Hill has had a reserves affiliation with the Hawthorn Football Club, which competes in the Australian Football League (AFL). History Early Australian rules football in Box Hill (1903–1935) Organised Australian rules football within the municipality of Box Hill can be traced back to 1903 and the founding of the Reporter District Football Association (RDFA). The 2014 AFL season was the 118th season of the Australian Football League (AFL), the highest level senior Australian rules football competition in Australia, which was known as the Victorian Football League until 1989. The season featured eighteen clubs, ran from 14 March until 27 September, and comprised a 22-game home-and-away season followed by a finals series featuring the top eight clubs.
