Masataka Gōda
is a Japanese professional shogi player ranked 9- dan. He is a former major title holder, having won the Ōi, Kisei, Kiō and Ōshō titles throughout his career. Early life and apprenticeship Gōda was born on March 17, 1971, in Suginami, Tokyo. He learned how to play shogi from his father when he was three years old. In December 1982, he entered the Japan Shogi Association's apprentice school at the rank of 6-kyū under guidance of shogi professional . He was promoted to the rank of apprentice professional 1-dan in May 1985, and obtained professional status and the rank of 4-dan in February 1990. Shogi professional Gōda's first appearance in a major title match came in May 1992 when he challenged Kōji Tanigawa for the 60th Kisei title. Although Goda lost the match 3 games to 1, he was at the time only the second 4-dan to be the challenger for a major title. is a Japanese professional shogi player ranked 8-dan. He is also a non-executive director of the Japan Shogi Association. Early life and apprenticeship Sugimoto was born on November 13, 1968, in Nagoya, Japan. In 1980, he finished third in the 5th and entered the Japan Shogi Association's apprentice school that same year at the rank 6-kyū under the guidance of shogi professional . Sugimoto was promoted to the rank of 1-dan in 1985 before obtaining full professional status and the rank of 4-dan in October 1990 after finishing the 7th 3-dan League (April 1990September 1990) with a record of 13 wins and 5 losses. Masataka Yoshida (吉田 正尚 ''Yoshida Masataka'', born July 15, 1993) nicknamed Macho Man, is a Japanese people, Japanese professional baseball designated hitter and left fielder for the Boston Red Sox of Major League Baseball (MLB). Masataka Taketsuru
was a Japanese chemist and businessman. He is known as the founder of Japan's whisky industry and Nikka Whisky Distilling. Born to a family that had owned a sake brewery since 1733, he traveled to Scotland in 1918 to study organic chemistry and distilling. He then returned to Japan establishing a whisky distillery at Suntory and founded his own distilling company, Nikka Whisky, in 1934.
