María Virginia Garrone
María Virginia Garrone (born November 12, 1978, in Córdoba) is an Argentine former swimmer, who specialized in individual medley events. She is a 2000 Olympian and a fifteen-time Argentine national champion in a medley double (both 200 and 400 m). During her sporting career, she trained for the swim team at Club Atletico de Córdoba under her longtime coach and mentor Daniel Garimaldi. Garrone competed only in the women's 200 m individual medley at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney. She set a meet record achieved a FINA B-cut of 2:20.59 from the South American Open Championships in Mar de Plata. Nam Yoo-Sun
Nam Yoo-sun (also ''Nam Yu-seon'', ; born July 23, 1985) is a South Korean swimmer, who specialized in individual medley events. She is a three-time Olympian (2000, 2004, and 2008), a fourth-place finalist at the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, and a two-time medalist in the individual medley (both 200 and 400 m) at the 2005 East Asian Games in Macau, China. Nam became the first South Korean swimmer in history to reach an Olympic final, until Park Tae-Hwan won the nation's first ever swimming medal at the succeeding Olympics in 2008. Nam made her first South Korean team, as a 15-year-old, at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney, where she competed in the women's 200 m individual medley. Medley swimming is a combination of four different swimming (sport), swimming strokes (Freestyle swimming, freestyle (usually front crawl), backstroke, breaststroke, Butterfly stroke, butterfly) into one race. This race is either swum by one swimmer as individual medley (IM) or by four swimmers as a medley relay. Individual medley Individual medley consists of a single swimmer swimming equal distances of the four strokes within one race. Stroke order Individual medley consists of four strokes. These four strokes go in an order by Butterfly, Backstroke, Breaststroke and finally Freestyle. The swimmer will swim one quarter of the race in each style, in a certain order.
