María Magdalena Domínguez
María Magdalena Domínguez Domínguez (11 July 1922 - 18 August 2021) was a Spanish poet of Galicia. Biography María Magdalena Domínguez Domínguez was born in the village of Mos, Province of Pontevedra, 11 July 1922. From a young age, she was fond of reading, especially poetry and she always had a great desire to learn. Her mother taught her to read and write in Galician, and also how to speak Spanish before she started school. While still in school, Domínguez was inspired by the writings of Rosalía de Castro, as well as Alfonso Daniel Rodríguez Castelao, and Álvaro Cunqueiro among others. She started writing poetry and for years, no one around her knew about it. She dedicated many of her poems to her husband, including "Alborada do Val da Louriña", which she published 30 years later, in 1986. Mos, Spain
Mos is a municipality in the province of Pontevedra in Galicia, Spain. Mos is adjacent to Vigo. The Louro River flows through Mos from north to south, making the municipality a valley region. There is no significant urban nucleus and most of the population live scattered across the municipality. Family-owned farms and vineyards are very common. Pontevedra is a province of Spain, located in the southwestern part of the autonomous community of Galicia. Alfonso Daniel Manuel Rodríguez Castelao (30 January 1886 – 7 January 1950), commonly known as Castelao, was a Galician politician, writer, painter and doctor. He is one of the fathers of Galician nationalism, promoting Galician identity and culture, and was one of the main names behind the cultural movement '' Xeración Nós''. Álvaro Cunqueiro Mora ( Mondoñedo, December 22, 1911 – Vigo, February 28, 1981) was a Galician novelist, poet, playwright, and journalist. He is the author of many works in both Galician and Spanish, including ''Merlín e familia'' ("Merlin and family"). He was a cofounder of the Galician Writers Association. In 1991, Galician Literature Day was dedicated to him. Life Cunqueiro was born to Joaquín Cunqueiro Montenegro, a pharmacist, and Pepita Mora Moirón of Mondoñedo (where he was infamous for his practice of stealing coats at parties). Galician Writers Association (, AELG) is an official entity of the autonomous region of Galicia's Xunta (government / board). The organization is formed by writers in galician language. It was founded by a group of writers: Álvaro Cunqueiro, Rafael Dieste, Ánxel Fole, Ricardo Carballo Calero, Antón Avilés de Taramancos, and others. It was named by the Swedish Academy to present candidates to the Nobel Prize and is part of the ''European Writers Congress''.
