Martin Roemers
Martin Roemers (born August 21, 1962 in Oldehove, Netherlands) is a Dutch photographer and artist. Roemers studied at the AKI Academy of Visual Arts in Enschede, the Netherlands. He graduated in 1991. Roemers is known for long term projects about urbanisation and long-term effects of warfare. His major projects include ''Trabant'', the Warfare Project, ''Relics of the Cold War'', and ''Metropolis'' Articles and reviews about Roemers' work have appeared in The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal and The New Yorker. ''Trabant'' His first long-term project was ''Trabant. The Final Days of Production'' (1990–1992). Roemers, still being a student, photographed the production process of the Trabant car and made portraits of the Trabant workers. The book and exhibition of this project followed years later in 2007. Customs House, Sydney is a heritage-listed museum space, visitor attraction, commercial building and performance space located in the Circular Quay area at 45 Alfred Street, in the Sydney central business district, in the City of Sydney local government area of New South Wales, Australia.
