Manti Teʻo
Manti Malietau Louis Teo ( ; born January 26, 1991) is an American former professional football player who was a linebacker in the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, earning unanimous All-American honors and receiving multiple national awards. He was selected by the San Diego Chargers in the second round of the 2013 NFL draft and played in the NFL until 2021. Since 2024, Teo has worked as an on-air commentator and analyst for NFL Network. In 2012, Teo became the victim of a catfishing ruse when Ronaiah Tuiasosopo created a fake online persona named Lennay Kekua with whom Teo became romantically involved. San Diego Chargers
The San Diego Chargers were a professional American football team in the National Football League (NFL). Catfishing refers to the creation of a fictitious online persona, or fake identity (typically on social networking platforms), with the intent of deception, usually to mislead a victim into an online romantic relationship or to commit financial fraud, such as the pig butchering scam. A fumble in gridiron football occurs when a player who has possession and control of the ball loses it before being downed (tackled), scoring, or going out of bounds.
