John Louis Mansi (born John Patrick Adams; 8 November 1926 – 6 August 2010) was a British television and film actor whose career spanned the years from the early 1950s to the early 1990s. Born in London to an Italian father and an Irish mother, he served in the merchant navy and the RAF during World War II. Upon becoming an actor, he chose his father's surname as his stage name, later adopting the name Louis after Louie Dumbrowski, the character played by Bernard Gorcey in The Bowery Boys film series, whom his friends claimed he resembled. Mohamed Mansi Qandil ( ar, محمد المنسي قنديل, born in 1946 in al-Mahalla al-Kubra) is an Egyptian novelist and author. Early life His father was a simple labourer. Qandil went to medical school and worked as a country doctor before turning to writing as a full-time profession. He lived in Kuwait for several years, where he was an editor at the monthly magazine '' Al Arabi''. As of 2015 he was the editor of the Egyptian magazine '' Ibdaa''. He now lives in Canada. Career Qandil's first novel was called ''Breaking of the Spirit'' and dealt with the subject of workers' unrest in the delta region. Maurizio (Maurice) Mansi (born September 3, 1965) is an Italian-Canadian ice hockey coach and a retired professional ice hockey winger. He last served as head coach of Swiss NLB team EHC Olten. Playing career He was drafted in the 10th round by the Montreal Canadiens in 1985 while playing for the RPI Engineers men's ice hockey team. During the 1985 season they won the NCAA title while setting a record by going undefeated for 30 games. After finishing university Maurizio played in the minors and briefly with the Canadian National Team before going to Italy. Lucida Mansi (Lucca, c. 1606 – Lucca, c. February 12, 1649) was an Italian noblewoman, and the subject of a legend in the province of Lucca, Italy. She is of uncertain origins. Biography Lucida was married very young to Vincenzo Diversi, who was killed in the early years of their marriage. Made a widow early, she was remarried to the old and very wealthy Gaspare di Nicolao Mansi. The wealthy Mansi family was well-known earlier than the 16th century in much of Europe thanks to their trade in silk .
