Manderlák Building
The Manderlák () is a high-rise residential building in Bratislava, Slovakia. Standing at 45 metres (147 ft) tall with 11 floors and built between 1934 and 1935, the construction was the first-ever high-rise building in Slovakia and the tallest in the country between 1935 and 1967. History Architecture The building was designed and built by German architects Christian Ludwig, Emerich Spitzer and Augustín Danielis for the Slovak businessman and butcher Rudolf Manderla, who was inspired by the design of slaughterhouses in Chicago. It is the first habitable high-rise building in Slovakia and was named after Manderl himself. When they started to shape up the concept of the building, the three architects decided they should somwhow remain faithful to the traditional architecture styles, therefore their biggest challenge was to decide at what extent they should use the principles of modern architecture. Old Town, Bratislava
The Old Town of Bratislava (, , ) is the historic center and one of the boroughs of Bratislava, in the Bratislava Region of Slovakia. It is coextensive with the smallest Slovak administrative district by area, Bratislava I. It contains the small, but preserved medieval city center, Bratislava Castle and other important landmarks. Bratislava's Old Town is known for its many churches, the Bratislava Riverfront and cultural institutions, it is also the location of most of the foreign states embassies and important Slovak institutions including the National Council of the Slovak Republic; the Summer Archbishop's Palace, seat of the Government of Slovakia; and Grassalkovich Palace, seat of the President of Slovakia. Incheba
Incheba (Expo) (formerly stylized as Incheba €XPO) (abbreviated from (I)nternational (CHE)mical (B)ratislav(A)) is a congress and exposition centre located in the Petržalka borough of Bratislava, Slovakia in SNP bridge's proximity. It includes multi-use exhibition halls, a parking lot with 4,500 places, a 19-floor 85.6 metres (281 ft) tall main office building and the Incheba Hotel. The fair program is oriented to areas such as construction, tourism, gastronomy, chemical industry, automobile industry, cosmetics, fashion, medical equipment and arts. The Coneco, Incheba, Slovmedica and Slovfarma fairs have been included in the calendar. It is also used for events such as concerts, conferences and tournaments. In 2006, more than a million people visited Incheba, of which 700,000 came to a total of 49 expositions, shows and fairs and 338,000 to other events. A skyscraper is a tall continuously habitable building having multiple floors. Most modern sources define skyscrapers as being at least or in height, though there is no universally accepted definition, other than being very tall high-rise buildings.
