Malaiyoor Mambattiyan
''Malaiyoor Mambattiyan'' () is 1983 Indian Tamil-language vigilante action film directed by Rajasekhar, starring Thiagarajan, Saritha and Silk Smitha. It was released on 1 July 1983. The film became a blockbuster and established Thiagarajan as a star. It was remade in Hindi by the same director as '' Gangvaa'' (1984) and in Telugu as ''Kondaveeti Nagulu'' (1984). In 2011, Thiagarajan remade the film starring his son Prashanth, titled as '' Mambattiyan''. Plot There is a group of youngsters in the village headed by Mambattiyan, who lead life in a forest by robbing the rich and distributing the wealth to the poor. Cast Production Thiagarajan was inspired to make a film on the bandit Malaiyoor Mambattiyan after he heard a folk song praising Mambattiyan for helping the people in Malaiyoor village and hailing him as a real-life Robin Hood. Rajasekhar (director)
Subramanian (??? – 24 April 1991), known professionally as Rajasekhar () was an Indian film director and screenwriter who was active mainly in Tamil cinema during the 1980s. He also directed films in Telugu language, Telugu, Kannada and Hindi. Early life and career Rajasekhar was born as Subramanian in Nattarasankottai in the then Ramanathapuram district and was a Bachelor of Science graduate. Prior to his entry in films, he was working in government department and few people encouraged him to write scripts as they felt he had a creator in him thus he wrote story for the 1977 release ''Naam Pirandha Mann''. Goundamani
Subramaniyan Karuppaiya (born 25 May 1939), known by his stage name Goundamani, is an Indian actor and comedian who works in Tamil cinema. He is known for his comic duo partnership in Tamil language, Tamil films with fellow actor Senthil. The pair dominated the Tamil industry as comedians in the 1980s and 90s. He was called Goundamani as a misconception by actor/director K. Bhagyaraj which he himself stated in an interview and the pseudonym stuck with him forever. Subha is the name used by the writing partnership of D. Suresh and A. N. Balakrishnan, who write stories, detective novels and screenplays in Tamil. Work The duo began co-authoring stories when they were in college together, and have been publishing their work since 1979. They have published more than 450 short novels and more than 400 short stories. Most of their detective novels feature the characters Narendran and Vaijayanthi of Eagle Eye Detective Agency, and their coworker John Sundar. Vairamuthu Ramasamy (born 13 July 1953) is an Indian lyricist, poet, and novelist working in the Tamil film industry. He is a prominent figure in the Tamil literary world. A master's graduate from the Pachaiyappa's College in Chennai, he first worked as a translator, while also being a published poet. Thirupparaithurai Srinivasan Rangarajan, professionally credited by his pseudonym Vaali (29October 193118July 2013) was an Indian poet who has the record for writing the most songs in Tamil cinema.
