Maharashtra Bhushan
The Maharashtra Bhushan is a highest civilian award presented annually by the Government of Maharashtra, Government of Maharashtra State in India. When the Shiv Sena (1966–2022), Shivsena- BJP alliance came to power in 1995, it proposed to institute this award. The Maharashtra Bhushan was first awarded in 1996. It was initially conferred in every years in the fields of Literature, Art, Sport, and Science. Later the fields of Social Work, Journalism, and Public Administration and Health Services were included. The award is presented for outstanding achievement in their field. Prize and selection At present, the award carries a cash prize of 25 lakh, lakhs, a memento and citation. The winners are selected by a committee appointed of the Government of Maharashtra. The Government of Maharashtra is the executive branch of the Indian states of india, state of Maharashtra. Raghunath Anant Mashelkar FTWAS FNA FASc FRS FREng FRSC (born 1 January 1943), also known as Ramesh Mashelkar, is an Indian chemical engineer who is a former Director General of the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). Murlidhar Devidas Amte (), popularly known as Baba Amte, (26 December 1914 – 9 February 2008) was an Indian social worker and social activist known particularly for his work for the rehabilitation and empowerment of people suffering from leprosy. Abhay Bang and Rani Bang are Indian activists and community health researchers working in the Gadchiroli district of Maharashtra, India. They have developed initiatives and programs aimed at reducing infant mortality rates. Bhimsen Gururaj Joshi (; ; 4 February 1922 – 24 January 2011), also known by the honorific prefix Pandit, was one of the greatest Indian vocalists in the Hindustani classical tradition from the Indian subcontinent. He is known for the ''khayal'' form of singing, as well as for his popular renditions of devotional music (''bhajans'' and ''abhangs'').
