Mad (band)
Mad is a hard rock band from Buenos Aires, Argentina. They debuted in 1997. Biography Formed in 1996, the band consists of Tomy Casparri (lead vocals), Diego Castelli (bass), Julián Méndez Morgan (guitar), Pelusa Suffloni (guitar) and Rodrigo Chaparro (drums). With a "sound of powerful and overwhelming rock" they began by playing in the local Underground music, underground rock scene. They soon recorded their Eponym, self-titled debut album 'MAD' which was released in 1998 and gained reasonable airplay (song), radio airplay having been well received by the critics. They were subsequently invited to play in several rock festivals organised by Rock and Pop FM and recorded two songs for a 4K Records CD compilation. In 2000, Mad was chosen by Eric Singer (former drummer of Kiss (band), KISS) to support him for his KISS Exposition in Buenos Aires. Cemento
Cemento was an Argentine nightclub, used for rock concerts. It was opened in 1985, and it was closed in 2004. History Omar Chabán had a nightclub named "Café Einstein", which was closed several times. He opened a new one with his wife Katja Alemann, which was meant to be open in 1984, but the inauguration was delayed because the girder was broken during the construction. Cemento was finally opened on June 28, 1985. Alemann appeared costumed as a Valkyrie in the inauguration, including a chariot with horses. Initially, Cemento worked as a discothèque, an underground theater and a rock concert hall. In time, it became mainly a rock concert hall. Chabán still used as a theater for his own plays, during the days of the week. Almost all notable musicians of Argentine rock played in Cemento at some point, with the exception of Charly García. Cosquín Rock
Cosquín Rock is an Argentine music festival, held annually since 2001. It is currently held in Santa María de Punilla, Córdoba. In Argentina, it takes place in February during the summer, and it is one of the most popular music festivals in the country. Many important national rock singers and groups participate in the festival, along with some of the most important international rock bands, mostly from Spanish-speaking countries like Spain, Mexico, and Uruguay. In the beginning, it was focused only on national rock bands. A Playmate is a female Model (person), model featured in the centerfold/gatefold of ''Playboy'' magazine as Playmate of the Month (PMOTM). The PMOTM's pictorial includes nude photographs and a centerfold poster, along with a pictorial biography and the "Playmate Data Sheet", which lists her birthdate, measurements, turn-ons, and turn-offs. Gustavo Adrián Cerati Clarke (11 August 1959 – 4 September 2014) was an Argentine musician and singer-songwriter who gained international recognition for being the leader, vocalist, composer, and guitarist of the rock band Soda Stereo. Riff (Argentine Band)
Riff was an Argentine hard rock band formed in Buenos Aires in 1980. The band was fronted by guitarist Pappo, Norberto "Pappo" Napolitano, who formed Riff after dissolving his old musical project, Pappo's Blues. The group was mostly influenced by acts like AC/DC, Motörhead, Saxon (band), Saxon, and the new wave of British heavy metal scene, who helped introduce heavy metal music in Argentina in the early 80s. The group dissolved after the death of Pappo in 2005. Soda Stereo was an Argentine rock band formed in Buenos Aires in 1982. The band's membership consisted of singer-guitarist Gustavo Cerati, bassist Zeta Bosio and drummer Charly Alberti. During their career, the band released seven studio albums before disbanding in 1997. Soda Stereo is the best-selling Argentine band of all time, having sold seven million records by 2007. Attaque 77 ("Attack 77"), sometimes stylized as A77aque, is an Argentine punk rock group. The band was formed in 1987 as a group of friends who got together to play their favorite songs, most of them by The Ramones, their favorite band and the one that influenced them the most.
