Macau Government Cantonese Romanization
The Macau Government Cantonese Romanization (; zh, 澳門政府粵語拼音) refers to the mostly consistent system for romanizing Cantonese as employed by the Government of Macau and other non-governmental organizations based in Macau. The system has been employed by the Macau Government since the Portuguese colonial period and continues to be used after the 1999 handover of the territory. Similarly to its counterpart romanization system in Hong Kong, the method is not completely standardized and thus is not taught in schools, but rather employed by government agencies to accurately display the correct pronunciation of Cantonese in public signage and official usage. The Macau Government romanization of Cantonese uses a similar convention to that of the Hong Kong Government's but is based on Portuguese pronunciation rather than English, given the colonial history of Macau. Shek Pai Wan
Shek Pai Wan ( zh, t=石排灣) or Aberdeen Bay is a bay between Aberdeen on Hong Kong Island and Ap Lei Chau (formerly Aberdeen Island). Its name was formerly romanized as Shekpywan. Yale Romanization Of Cantonese
The Yale romanization of Cantonese was developed by Yale scholar Gerard P. Kok for his and Parker Po-fei Huang's textbook ''Speak Cantonese'' initially circulated in looseleaf form in 1952 but later published in 1958. The Linguistic Society of Hong Kong Cantonese Romanization Scheme, also known as Jyutping, is a romanisation system for Cantonese developed in 1993 by the Linguistic Society of Hong Kong (LSHK). Seac Pai Van
Seac Pai Van (; zh, t=石排灣) is an area in Macau, located south of the Cotai Strip and on the northeastern parts of Coloane. Originally a bay that separated Coloane from Taipa, from the late 2000s it was reclaimed from the sea as a part of the combined island of Cotai, mostly to be turned into public housing.
