MTV Sweden was a music and entertainment channel broadcasting to the Swedish market. The channel replaced MTV Nordic on September 18, 2005, however on February 22, 2019 it was replaced by the return of MTV Nordic. History * MTV Sweden launched in September 2005 along with MTV Finland and MTV Norway. VH1 (referred as VH1 Europe) was a European music television channel owned by ViacomCBS Networks EMEAA. It played a wide variety of music programs on a daily or weekly basis, and various VH1 original series. The channel focused on current music, as well as music from the 2000s and the 2010s. In the 2000s, the channel used to focus on then current music – with a heavier focus on so-called adult contemporary pop and pop rock than today, – as well as music from the 1980s and the 1990s. Viasat is a direct broadcast satellite, satellite and pay television brand, founded in Sweden in 1991. Viasat has previously been owned by Modern Times Group, Modern Times Group (MTG). The channels of both companies were broadcast from London.
