MOTHXR
Mothxr (stylized as MOTHXR) is a four-piece indie pop band from Brooklyn, New York. They are led by Penn Badgley, formerly of ''Gossip Girl'' fame. History Producer Jimmy Giannopoulos (Lolawolf, Reputante) and vocalist Penn Badgley, neighborhood friends for years in New York, waited patiently for a sound to manifest beyond their bond based upon an odd pop aesthetic. Bassist Darren Will (Rathborne) was always orbiting, always an obvious partner when the time came. The three finally decided to hole up in a little bungalow in East LA to record for eight days without anything written, without expectation. Seeking a microphone, they found in the neighborhood one-time-Brooklynite and New Zealand expat Simon Oscroft (No), who proved to be the guitarist they weren't looking for. The spontaneous quartet recorded five songs in five days before taking a breath to see they had, in fact, started a band. Penn Badgley
Penn Dayton Badgley (born November 1, 1986) is an American actor and musician. He is known for his roles as Dan Humphrey in The CW teen drama series '' Gossip Girl'' (2007–2012) and as Joe Goldberg in the Netflix thriller series '' You'' (2018–present). Lolawolf (styled as LOLAWOLF) is an American R&B and electropop duo, formed by actress and singer Zoë Kravitz and drummer and producer Jimmy Giannopoulos, based in Brooklyn, New York City. The band released the self-titled EP, ''Lolawolf'' in February 2014, a full-length album titled ''Calm Down'' in October 2014 followed by EP ''Every Fuckin Day'' in June 2015. History Lolawolf is composed of frontwoman Kravitz, and drummer, producer and film maker Jimmy Giannopoulos (also of MOTHXR and Pretty Good Dance Moves). Kravitz became friends with Giannopoulos while living in Brooklyn. They began collaborating on music and released the track "Wanna Have Fun" in May 2013. Razor & Tie was an American entertainment company that consisted of a record label and a music publishing company. It was established in 1990 by Craig Balsam and Cliff Chenfeld. Based in New York City (with additional offices in Los Angeles and Nashville), Razor & Tie releases were distributed by Universal Music Group.
