The Russian Basketball Super League 1, or Super Liga 1, (), formerly known as the Russian Basketball Super League A or the Russian Basketball Super Liga A, is a men's professional basketball league that was the pre-eminent league of Russian professional basketball until 2010. Currently, it is the second-tier division of the Russian professional basketball pyramid. The league is run by the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF). Russian Basketball Federation (), also known as RBF, is a national governing body of basketball in Russia. It was founded in 1991, and is the successor to the Soviet Basketball Federation. After the 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, FIBA banned Russian teams and officials from participating in FIBA basketball and FIBA 3x3 Basketball competitions. In February 2022, Russia and Belarus were suspended from international competitions until further notice due to Russia's 2022 Russian invasion of Ukraine, invasion of Ukraine. It also banned Russia from hosting any competitions. In addition, FIBA Europe mandated that no official basketball competitions be held in Russia, while the teams of the Russian Basketball Federation were withdrawn from national team competitions and the club competition season 2022-23. PBC Ural Great Perm was a Russian professional basketball club located in Perm. The club's home arena was Molot Sports Hall. The team played in the Russian Super League. History The club was established in the year 1995 on the basis of the local Technical University team. Ural Great won the Russian League championship on two occasions, in the years 2001 and 2002 (the only time between 1992 and 2022, when CSKA Mosckow hadn't won russian championship) and the Russian Cup in the year 2004. They also won the NEBL championship in the year 2001. Ural also won the EuroCup Challenge championship in the year 2006. On October 14, 2008, court bailiffs seized Ural Great's office furniture and equipment for unpaid debts. The team went bankrupt and did not participate in any further competitions. PBC Lokomotiv Kuban () is a Russian professional basketball team based in Krasnodar. It participates in the VTB United League. Their honour list includes a EuroCup Basketball, EuroCup championship in the 2012–13 season, and two Russian Basketball Cup, Russian Cup victories in 1999-00 and 2017–18.
