Lynn Shackelford
Lynn Shackelford (born August 27, 1947) is an American former professional basketball player. A graduate of John Burroughs High School in Burbank, California, Shackelford earned 7 varsity letters in 3 years in basketball, baseball and golf. He was the CIF Player of the Year in basketball in 1965 for the Southern California Section. A 6'5" forward, Shackelford played college basketball at UCLA under legendary coach John Wooden. He was one of only 4 players to have started on 3 NCAA championship teams ( 67, 68, 69). The others are Lew Alcindor, Curtis Rowe and Henry Bibby. He complemented his teammates as a dead eye pure shooter; most of his shots would be 3 pointers today. Shackelford played one season in the American Basketball Association as a member of the Miami Floridians. He was later a broadcaster for ESPN, CBS, and NBC. John Burroughs High School
John Burroughs High School is a public high school located in Burbank, in Los Angeles County. It is known for its notable alumni, and being the filming location for many television shows. History The school was built in the 1920s, but was not established as a high school until 1948. The school was named after naturalist John Burroughs. Academics The school scored a 768 on the Academic Performance Index in 2007, and in 2010 reached a score of 819, meeting the school's 12th consecutive goal. 90% of students passed the math portion of the CAHSEE (California High School Exit Exams) on the first attempt, while 92% of students passed the English portion of the CAHSEE on first attempt. Curtis Rowe
Curtis Rowe, Jr. (born July 2, 1949) is an American retired basketball player. A 6'7" forward from UCLA, Rowe was drafted by the Dallas Chaparrals in the 1971 ABA Draft and by the Detroit Pistons in the first round of the 1971 NBA Draft. Rowe opted to sign with Detroit and the NBA. Rowe played eight seasons (1971–1979) in the National Basketball Association as a member of the Detroit Pistons and the Boston Celtics. He averaged 11.6 points per game in his career and appeared in the 1976 NBA All-Star Game. At UCLA, he was a member of three national championship teams coached by John Wooden: 1969, 1970 and 1971. ''It's a Knockout!'' is a British game show first broadcast in 1966. It was adapted from the French show ''Intervilles'', and was part of the international ''Jeux sans frontières'' franchise. History The series was broadcast on BBC1 from 7 August 1966 to 30 July 1982; thereafter a number of specials were broadcast until 25 December 1988. An episode was made by TVS for ITV which aired on 28 May 1990 as part of its ITV Telethon that year with Bernie Clifton as the host. Welsh version A Welsh version, ' (''Games without Frontiers''), was broadcast from 3 August 1991 to 24 December 1994 on S4C. Francis Dayle "Chick" Hearn (November 27, 1916 – August 5, 2002) was an American sportscaster who was the play-by-play announcer for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association for 41 years.
