Luy
The Luy is a left tributary of the Adour, in the Landes, in the Southwest of France. It is long, including its right source river ''Luy de France''. Geography The Luy is the union of two neighboring rivers, the Luy de Béarn, which is long, in the south, and the ''Luy de France'', the main course. Both rise in Béarn, at the base of the plateau of Ger, east of Pau. They flow north-west through the Chalosse region and join below the castle of Gaujacq. The Luy flows into the Adour downstream from Tercis-les-Bains (south of Dax). Luy De Béarn
The Luy de Béarn (, literally ''Luy of Béarn''; oc, Lui de Bearn) is a left tributary of the Luy, in the Southwest of France. It is long. Geography The source of the Luy de Béarn is at the base of the plateau of Ger, east of Pau. It flows north-west through the Chalosse region and joins the Luy de France to form the Luy below the castle of Gaujacq. Pau, Pyrénées-Atlantiques
Pau (, ) is a commune overlooking the Pyrenees, and prefecture of the department of Pyrénées-Atlantiques, region of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, France. The city is located in the heart of the former sovereign principality of Béarn, of which it was the capital from 1464. Pau lies on the Gave de Pau, and is located from the Atlantic Ocean and from Spain. This position gives it a striking panorama across the mountain range of the Pyrenees, especially from its landmark "Boulevard des Pyrénées", as well as the hillsides of Jurançon. According to Alphonse de Lamartine, "Pau has the world's most beautiful view of the earth just as Naples has the most beautiful view of the sea." Chalosse
Chalosse (; oc-gsc, Shalòssa or ) is a wine-growing area in Gascony, in south-west France. It lies in the ''departement'' of Landes and is centred on the town of Dax. Chalosse also gives its name to ''coteaux de Chalosse'', the wine of the area, and is used to describe both the Ondenc and the Graisse varieties of grape. Location Chalosse is located in the foothills of the Pyrenees, around the valleys of the river Louts and the river Luy, both left tributaries of the river Adour. The region is bounded by the Adour and the Pays de Marsan to the north, the river Gabas and the Tursan to the east and by the region of Béarn to the south. The Adour (; eu, Aturri; oc, Ador) is a river in southwestern France. It rises in High-Bigorre (Pyrenees), in the commune of Aspin-Aure, and flows into the Atlantic Ocean ( Bay of Biscay) near Bayonne.
