Lushan Quaternary Glaciation National Geopark
Mountain Lu National Park or Mountain Lu GeoPark (), is located in the region around Mountain Lu, Jiujiang. The protected area of extends from the Yangtze River to the Poyang Lake basin. Landmarks ;Natural landmarks The park area features the effects of Quaternary glaciation, and exceptional geological upthrown fault scarps from the Quaternary age. The resulting stunning landscapes include: ''Lu'shan''—Mount Lu, other mountains and summit peaks, valleys, gorges, gullies, rock formations, natural caves, and waterfalls. ;Cultural landmarks The area also contains large numbers of Taoist and Buddhist temples, as well as several landmarks of Confucianism. Conservation In 1996, Mount Lushan became an UNESCO World Heritage Site. In 2004, the Lushan Geopark became a member of Global Geoparks Network. Mount Lu
Mountain Lu or Lushan (, Gan: Lu-san), officially named Mountain Lu National Park, is a mountain in China. It was also known as Kuanglu () in ancient times. It is situated in Jiujiang, Jiangxi Province, and is one of the most renowned mountains in the country. Mount Lu is located primarily in Lushan county-level city in Jiujiang Prefecture, although the northern portions are found in Lianxi District which was formerly known as Lushan District and until 2016 covered the majority of the Mount Lu. The oval-shaped mountains are about long and wide, and neighbors Jiujiang city and the Yangtze River to the north, Nanchang city to the south, and Poyang Lake to the east. Its highest point is Dahanyang Peak (), reaching above sea level, and is one of the hundreds of steep peaks that towers above a sea of clouds that encompass the mountains for almost 200 days out of the year. Confucianism
Confucianism, also known as Ruism or Ru classicism, is a system of thought and behavior originating in ancient China. Geography Of Jiangxi
Jiangxi (; ; formerly romanized as Kiangsi or Chianghsi) is a landlocked province in the east of the People's Republic of China. Its major cities include Nanchang and Jiujiang. Spanning from the banks of the Yangtze river in the north into hillier areas in the south and east, it shares a border with Anhui to the north, Zhejiang to the northeast, Fujian to the east, Guangdong to the south, Hunan to the west, and Hubei to the northwest. The name "Jiangxi" is derived from the circuit administrated under the Tang dynasty in 733, Jiangnanxidao (; Gan: Kongnomsitau). The abbreviation for Jiangxi is "" (; Gan: Gōm), for the Gan River which runs across from the south to the north and flows into the Yangtze River. National Parks Of China
The proposal of establishing a national park system of China was released in 2013 at the 3rd Plenary Session of the 18th Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party. In 2016, the Three-River-Source National Park was established as the first experimental unit of this park system. Fujian Wuyi Mountains National Park was established in the same year, and 9 more parks have been designated since then. Currently, the National Park System of China has 11 units. They are administered by the National Forestry and Grassland Administration.
