''Love Island'' is a British dating game show. It is a revival of the earlier celebrity series of the same name, which aired for two series in 2005 and 2006, and was hosted by Caroline Flack until her suspension in 2019; Laura Whitmore presented the series from 2020 to 2022. Sjuan ( en, The Seven; formerly TV4 Plus) is a sister channel of Swedish TV4, owned by TV4 AB. The main focus of the channel is on entertainment, sports and lifestyle programmes. The channel started as ''TV4 Plus'' in 2003 but changed name to Sjuan in September 2011. The channel was launched in 2003 on digital terrestrial, digital satellite and cable networks. The channel could be received by many households from its launch and became the seventh most watched television channel in 2005. ''Love Island'' is a dating reality show that originated in the United Kingdom in 2005 as ''Celebrity Love Island''. Created by ITV Studios, it has spawned a second British version in 2015 as well as several international versions. The show features a group of "single" contestants, known as "islanders" who live together in a specially constructed villa that is isolated from the outside world, in an attempt to find love. The islanders are continuously monitored during their stay in the house by live television cameras as well as personal audio microphones. Throughout the series, the contestants "couple up" to avoid being dumped from the villa. Additionally, the public will vote for their favourite islanders to stay in the villa at points in the series. As old islanders are dumped, new islanders enter the villa. At the end of the season, the public vote one final time to determine the winning couple.
