Los Priscos
Los Priscos were a criminal group affiliated with the Medellin Cartel in Colombia. In the 1980s and early 1990s they participated in several assassinations in Colombia. They were often described as functioning like the ‘armed-wing of Medellin’. The group is named after the four Prisco Lopera brothers: Armando Alberto, Eneas, Jose Rodolfo and David Ricardo. There was a fifth brother, Conrado Antonio, a doctor. Conrado was well respected in the medical community, but he was the personal physician to Pablo Escobar. Conrado is thought to have been kidnapped and murdered on the orders of Pablo Escobar in Cocorná, in eastern Antioquia. Another doctor, Edgar de Jesus Botero Prisco, a first cousin to the brothers, was also killed. Rodrigo Lara Bonilla
Rodrigo Lara Bonilla ( es, Rodrigo Lara Bonilla; August 11, 1946 – April 30, 1984) was a Colombian lawyer and politician, who served as Minister of Justice under President Belisario Betancur, and was assassinated by orders of Pablo Escobar because of his work as Minister in prosecuting cocaine traffickers mainly belonging to the Medellín Cartel. Lara's death led to Escobar's indictment for murder and a long-running controversy over extradition in Colombia that would ultimately cost thousands of lives. Rionegro
Rionegro () is a city and municipality in Antioquia Department, Colombia, located in the subregion of Eastern Antioquia. The official name of the city is "Ciudad Santiago de Arma de Rionegro". Rio Negro means "Black River" in Spanish, as the city received its name after a river that looks black because of the shadows cast by trees. The river traverses the city and it is the most prominent geographical feature of the municipality. Jaime Ramírez (police Officer)
Jaime Ramírez Gómez (July 4, 1940 – November 17, 1986) was an official of the National Police of Colombia, who led a fight against the illegal drug trade in Colombia from the 1970s onwards. He became the national director of the Colombian drug enforcement unit, working with the Minister of Justice Rodrigo Lara Bonilla against the Medellín Cartel. The biggest blow against the cartel was dealt by Colonel Ramírez (later Brigadier General) on March 7, 1984, in an operation involving the DEA to locate and destroy a large cocaine production camp in the jungle of the Yari River (between the departments of Caqueta and Meta) known by the cartel as "Tranquilandia" (the "Tranquil Land"). Colonel Valdemar Franklin Quintero (January 26, 1941 – August 18, 1989) was the commander of the Colombian National Police in ''Antioquia Province''. Franklin had led several major raids which resulted in the seizure of multiple tons of cocaine. Antonio Roldan Betancur (1946-July 4, 1989) was a Colombian politician. He was once the governor of the department of Antioquia Department, Antioquia, from 1988 until his death in 1989. Roldan Betancur was also a medical doctor and a community sports leader. Death Roman Betancur was killed by a car bomb when he was aboard an official car on the way to his office on 4 July, 1989. Carlos Mauro Hoyos Jiménez ( Támesis, Antioquia, July 26, 1939 – Rionegro, Antioquia, January 25, 1988) was a Colombian jurist and politician.
