İzmir
İzmir ( , ; ), also spelled Izmir, is a metropolitan city in the western extremity of Anatolia, capital of the province of the same name. It is the third most populous city in Turkey, after Istanbul and Ankara and the second largest urban agglomeration on the Aegean Sea after Athens. As of the last estimation, on 31 December 2019, the city of İzmir had a population of 2,965,900, while İzmir Province had a total population of 4,367,251. Agora Open Air Museum Of İzmir
The Agora of Smyrna, alternatively known as the Agora of İzmir ( tr, İzmir Agorası), is an ancient Roman agora located in Smyrna (present-day İzmir, Turkey). Originally built by the Greeks in the 4th century BC, the agora was ruined by an earthquake in 178 AD. Roman Emperor Marcus Aurelius ordered its reconstruction. Excavations started in 1933. Following the proclamation of the Republic, Turkish museums developed considerably, mainly due to the importance Atatürk had attached to the research and exhibition of artifacts of Anatolia. When the Republic of Turkey was proclaimed, there were only the İstanbul Archaeology Museum called the "Asar-ı Atika Müzesi", the Istanbul Military Museum housed in the St. Irene Church, the Islamic Museum (Evkaf-ı Islamiye Müzesi) in the Suleymaniye Complex in Istanbul and the smaller museums of the Ottoman Empire Museum (Müze-i Humayun) in a few large cities of Anatolia. The Turkish Archaeological Museum (Türk Asar-ı Atikası), which was established during the first years of the Republic, carried out studies to gather, collate, catalogue and protect archaeological and ethnographical finds. İzmir Women's Museum
İzmir Women's Museum is a museum in İzmir, Turkey. It is at in Konak secondary municipality of İzmir. The museum building is a three floor-historical building in Tilkilik neighborhood. With a bay window it is a typical İzmir house. It was opened on 23 January 2014. During the opening ceremony, Konak mayor Hakan Tartan said that the municipality takes side with women. Museum has a total of 13 rooms. In the ground floor, there is a photo of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey dancing with his apoted daughter Nebile during the wedding ceremony of the later. Various attire including golden-embroidery ''bindallı'' are displayed. A photo timeline of Turkish women, a library and a video room are also in the ground floor. İzmir Toy Museum (also called “Ümran Baradan Toy Museum”) is a museum of toys in İzmir , Turkey. The museum is situated near Varyant street on Halil Rifat Paşa mah 31, Konak History The museum was established by ceramic artist, Ümran Baradan. In 2005, she donated a two-storey house and toys she had purchased in various countries. Later, Sunay Akın, who had previously founded İstanbul Toy Museum, contributed various items to the museum.
