Bahrain ( ; ; ar, البحرين, al-Bahrayn, locally ), officially the Kingdom of Bahrain, ' is an island country in Western Asia. It is situated on the Persian Gulf, and comprises a small archipelago made up of 50 natural islands and an additional 33 artificial islands, centered on Bahrain Island which makes up around 83 percent of the country's landmass. Bahrain is situated between Qatar and the northeastern coast of Saudi Arabia, to which it is connected by the King Fahd Causeway. According to the 2020 census, the country's population numbers 1,501,635, of which 712,362 are Bahraini nationals. Bahrain spans some , and is the third-smallest nation in Asia after the Maldives and Singapore. The capital and largest city is Manama. Sitra Mall
Sitra Mall is a multi-storey shopping mall located in Sitra, Bahrain. It opened in 2006 and covers an area of 46,838 square meter. It is located adjacent to Tubli Bay and neighbors Al Noor International School, a Toyota/Lexus car showroom and the Sitra Causeway which connects Sitra island to the capital city Manama. The mall can hold up to 118 outlets. It is the first mall in the country to have a waterfront view. History __NOTOC__ It was also the first mall to ban smoking in public. As a result of the 2011 civil unrest that gripped the kingdom and local violence in Sitra, the mall has turned into a dead mall, as the violence deterred future tenants from the mall. Seef ( ar, السيف) is a commercial district in Manama, the capital city of Bahrain. Etymology The word 'seef' means coast or shore in the Gulf Arabic lexicon, similar to 'sahel'. History Seef is a result of active land reclamation work starting in the 1980s, which has dramatically changed the Bahrain coastline. Surrounded on three sides by the sea, Seef is a district dominated by office blocks, luxury apartments, hotels and multiple shopping malls.
