Lismore GAA
Lismore GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Lismore, County Waterford, Ireland. The club enters teams in both GAA codes each year, which includes two adult hurling teams and one adult Gaelic football team in the Waterford County Championships. The club has won county titles in both Hurling and football, but in recent history the club has been mainly concerned with the game of hurling. The club's Camogie teams have also enjoyed much success. The club has won the County Senior Hurling Championship 3 times, 1925(beating Erin's Own 4-2 to 2-3), the club had to wait 66 years before their next success in 1991(beating Mount Sion 5-7 to 1-5) and 1993(beating Passage 0-8 to 0-7). The following years proved somewhat frustrating for Lismore. Hurling ( ga, iománaíocht, ') is an outdoor team game of ancient Gaelic Irish origin, played by men. One of Ireland's native Gaelic games, it shares a number of features with Gaelic football, such as the field and goals, the number of players and much terminology. The Munster Intermediate Club Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the AIB Munster GAA Hurling Intermediate Club Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Munster Council of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the champion intermediate clubs in the province of Munster in Ireland. Ballysaggart GAA
Ballysaggart GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association club based in Ballysaggart, County Waterford, Ireland. The club enters teams in hurling each year, which includes 2 adult hurling teams in the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship and the Western Junior Hurling “C” Championship, and had briefly returned to participating in Gaelic football entering a team in the West Waterford Junior Football Championship in 2015, after a lapse of ten years. Ballysaggart has no underage teams. Instead the club is amalgamated with Lismore GAA for underage teams and play as Naomh Carthach. Lismore () is a historic town in County Waterford, in the province of Munster, Ireland. Maurice Shanahan
Maurice Shanahan (born 1 February 1990) is an Irish hurler who plays as a right corner-forward at senior level for the Waterford county team. Born in Lismore, County Waterford, Shanahan first played competitive hurling during his schooling at Blackwater Community School. He arrived on the inter-county scene at the age of seventeen when he first linked up with the Waterford minor team, before later joining the under-21 side. He made his senior debut during the 2009 championship. Shanahan immediately became a regular member of the starting fifteen and has won one Munster medal and one National Hurling League medal.
